  • Dog-friendly and peaceful park with rural river views
  • Defined family-friendly and adults-only fields
  • Many walks available nearby
A view… by a river… well of course. River View Touring Park in south-west Wales has the scenic River Gwili flowing along part of its boundary: you should settle down here immediately with river view and book. Although the site is in a peaceful rural setting, it's easily reached from Junction 49 of the M4 and other major routes and has easy access to the attractions and activities of Carmarthenshire and south Wales. It faces south, is filled with native trees, wildflowers and wildlife as well as the river views, and covers six acres with a woodland walk linking to the five-acre hay meadow – both topping spots for strolls for walking the dog. (Another walk is available across the bridge and up a track skirting a wooded valley.) River View is owned by Sian and Andy, who live on site with the mission of helping guests have as peaceful and enjoyable a stay as possible. The facilities they've added include four sinks and drainers for washing up, and a modern toilet and shower block with a family room, disabled access and (always a winner) underfloor heating. Everyday essentials like milk, bread, soft drinks, cakes, sweets and some local produce are available in the small shop at reception, along with free-range eggs when the chickens are in production and local bacon and sausages when available.

What customers say

This well-maintained, friendly campsite offers spacious pitches and a peaceful riverside setting. Visitors praise the exceptionally clean toilet and shower facilities, some noting underfloor heating. The on-site bar and shop are popular. Some guests report traffic noise from the nearby dual carriageway and limited WiFi. The playground could benefit from more equipment for younger children. Overall, a highly recommended site with many visitors planning to return.

Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch

Liked We stayed here for 7 nights. It was the perfect base to explore south Wales from. Only a 2 minute drive from the M4 but it felt very remote. 35 minute drive to the Black Mountain Quarry where the sunset was incredible, 45 minute drive to Pen Y Fan. 20 minute drive to Swansea.

The sight was peaceful, clean and well organised and had a bar which opened for a few hours a day.

People have complained there are not enough showers. There are 6 showers in total and we never had to queue. We did not feel the facilities were dated. They were kept clean and tidy throughout the day.
