Hardstanding pitches

  • Small modern motorhome park on the edge of Pendine village
  • A five-minute walk from Pendine Sands and Museum of Land Speed
  • Fully serviced hardstanding pitches; dogs welcome
Pendine Sands is famed as the location for several land speed records – and it’s likely you’ll want to get a move on with booking when you see the location of Hafan Y Mor Motorhome Park. This small but well-equipped Carmarthenshire motorhome park is on the edge of the village of Pendine, looking out over green space to the sea beyond. That stunning seven-mile stretch of sand (where Malcolm Campbell and Parry Thomas set their world records) is about five minutes’ walk away, with rock pools to poke about in and coast path walks to show you some more of the scenery. The beach is patrolled by lifeguards in summer so it’s a good place for a family beach day. This is an excellent location for a coastal break – as well as being so close to the beach, the park also has lots of handy village facilities within a few minutes walk, including cafés, pubs and shops. The village has a playground and an activity centre that can help you organise watersports, surf lessons and land-based activities like archery. The Museum of Land Speed is a short walk away as well, and there are often races or events held on the beach (Hot Rod racing, motocross and even the odd world record attempt…) Things have been kept nice and simple on site – it’s a self-check-in site with key code entry and well-marked hardstanding pitches. Each pitch has an electric connection and a picnic table, and there are chemical disposal and motorhome service points to help keep your vehicle in working order.

What customers say

This well-maintained site is praised for its clean, level hardstanding pitches with electric and water. Its excellent location is a highlight, offering easy walking access to Pendine beach, shops, pubs, and restaurants. The booking and access process is described as slick and efficient. As a motorhome-only site, it is noted that toilet and shower facilities are not provided, though waste disposal is available. Some guests found the price high for the facilities offered, and minor issues with bin collections and water supply were noted and subsequently addressed by management.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Excellent location, nice clean pitch. A short walk for the shops and pubs. The museum of Speed is worth a visit.

Disliked Would great if we could have dropped the grey water tank. Pricey and this reflected in us being the only people there!

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Really slick access process even at 6:30pm on a Sunday night. Just ring the number in the confirmation and get an access code. Well drained hardstanding pitches. Good recycling and waste disposal facilities.

Disliked Just a little bit pricey considering there are no toilets or showers.

Local attractions

A stroll around the Museum of Land Speed (five minutes’ walk) is a must – even if you’re not particularly into cars, the interactive exhibits bring to life the stories of the various world records that have been set or attempted here. Although you probably won’t be attempting any of your own land-speed records, there are plenty of options around this area for outdoor adventures. Morfa Bay Adventure (20 minutes’ walk) is a great hub for coasteering, surfing and other watersports, or you could gallop around the area on outings from Marros Riding Centre (five minutes’ drive) or try all sorts of activities (including go-karting, archery and adventure golf) at Heatherton World of Activities (25 minutes). Other days out nearby might take you to Laugharne (10 minutes) for the castle and Dylan Thomas Writing Shed, to Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (20 minutes) for animal encounters, to Carew Castle & Tidal Mill (25 minutes) for a heritage-themed stroll or to Tenby (half an hour) for some more excellent beaches and boat trips.
