  • Small family- and dog-friendly site with views over the Teifi valley
  • A five-minute drive from Newcastle Emlyn and 15 to Cenarth Falls
  • Poppit Sands, Llangrannog and Aberporth beaches reachable in 30 mins
Turn up in the Teifi valley for a Welsh welcome at Fron Rafel, a small family-run site spread over seven acres whose friendly vibes and helpful staff are as tiptop as the views of the countryside from the grounds. As well as being in a lush rural area in west Wales, this dog-friendly place is less than 10 minutes’ drive to the popular settlement of Newcastle Emlyn and 35 minutes from the family-friendly beach of Poppit Sands (lifeguarded in summer), so you can switch between coastal and town times with ease. Countryside explores are also prime around this park, with Cenarth Falls and its leaping salmon 15 minutes’ drive for waterfall hiking and sightseeing; for mountain biking and more walks, Brechfa Forest is within half an hour. Up for getting out on the water? A local adventure company can arrange canoe trips and other outdoor activities in the site's Carmarthenshire surroundings. If you fancy browsing the shops in Cardigan and Carmarthen instead, both are about half an hour from the park. Restaurants are dotted around these market towns as well as closer by and a well-stocked supermarket is within a couple of miles for picking up ready meals to warm up in the microwave back on base. Other amenities at the site include a newly restored piggery building with ladies’ and gents’ shower rooms and a family wetroom plus washing-up facilities and a toaster at one end of the block. The park also has your essentials sorted with a chemical disposal and two washing machines, free for guests to use.

What customers say

Fron Rafel is praised for its peaceful, tranquil atmosphere, immaculately clean grounds, and exceptional facilities, including spacious pitches with EHU and water. Owners Amanda and Kevin are consistently described as friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Guests highlight the well-maintained toilets, showers, and the convenient, well-equipped kitchen. The site is noted for its scenic location, ideal for exploring, and its dog-friendly amenities. Minor issues raised include a lack of hedging between pitches and sensor lighting in toilets, which the manager has addressed. Some guests desire more children's activities.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Booked last minute fri-mon in late Aug. camping pitch ( tent ) three adults including an adult with additional needs and three children.
We absolutely love it. The site is beautifully maintained and the owners are lovely. Really helpful and great to chat with. Very welcoming and helpful. Bathrooms are lovely and there is a wet room for families etc to use. We found it very useful. The pitches are mixed hard standing and grass which is great as you can choose what suits you ( if you have a tent ). Plenty of space and there is water and electric on each pitch.
It’s ideally located a short drive from beaches / towns but nicely tucked out of the way. Very peaceful. There’s a pond / dog walking area for all to use, the kids enjoyed exploring it. There is a caravan and a yurt you can book ( and soon to be a shepherds hut). Both look lovely. There is also a kitchen on site with a kettle, microwave and fridge freezer plus cutlery etc for guests to use. It’s perfect for that peaceful get away to use as a base to explore the beautiful area around. Overall it’s lovely and we highly recommend. Thank you for having us ! X

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Campsite was immaculate and very scenic. Toilets exceptionally clean along with the kitchen and wet room. Lots of facilities including a fridge freezer and microwave. Peaceful landscaped grounds made such a relaxing stay. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The pitches are very spacious with electric hook up and water right at your disposal.

Disliked Nothing at all to dislike. The owners have worked hard to create a relaxing peaceful environment and still impoving it.

Liked We stayed at the yurt with our 11 year old son and our furry baby. It was an amazing experience and truly exceeded our expectations. The owners have thought of everything possible you may need and provided them. Clean, comfortable, magical and excellent location to explore Cardigan, Aberporth and a bit of a further drive Tenby, still many more places we would like to see around this area of beautiful Wales. Honestly we had a great time and would recommend! 10/10 from us. Thank you Amanda!

Liked It was like being on safari! Everything was luxurious and spacious. So quiet- you don’t realise how much noise pollution we tolerate until you are somewhere like this. I would like to come back in autumn when it gets dark earlier because I bet the stars are amazing.
We didn’t need to bring anything because it was all here plus more.
