  • Small family- and dog-friendly site with views over the Teifi valley
  • A five-minute drive from Newcastle Emlyn and 15 to Cenarth Falls
  • Poppit Sands, Llangrannog and Aberporth beaches reachable in 30 mins
Turn up in the Teifi valley for a Welsh welcome at Fron Rafel, a small family-run site spread over seven acres whose friendly vibes and helpful staff are as tiptop as the views of the countryside from the grounds. As well as being in a lush rural area in west Wales, this dog-friendly place is less than 10 minutes’ drive to the popular settlement of Newcastle Emlyn and 35 minutes from the family-friendly beach of Poppit Sands (lifeguarded in summer), so you can switch between coastal and town times with ease. Countryside explores are also prime around this park, with Cenarth Falls and its leaping salmon 15 minutes’ drive for waterfall hiking and sightseeing; for mountain biking and more walks, Brechfa Forest is within half an hour. Up for getting out on the water? A local adventure company can arrange canoe trips and other outdoor activities in the site's Carmarthenshire surroundings. If you fancy browsing the shops in Cardigan and Carmarthen instead, both are about half an hour from the park. Restaurants are dotted around these market towns as well as closer by and a well-stocked supermarket is within a couple of miles for picking up ready meals to warm up in the microwave back on base. Other amenities at the site include a newly restored piggery building with ladies’ and gents’ shower rooms and a family wetroom plus washing-up facilities and a toaster at one end of the block. The park also has your essentials sorted with a chemical disposal and two washing machines, free for guests to use.

What customers say

This peaceful, well-maintained campsite is highly praised for its friendly and welcoming hosts, clean facilities, and tranquil natural surroundings. Visitors highlight the spacious pitches, excellent amenities including a well-equipped kitchen and superb showers, and the accommodating nature of the owners, who are described as going above and beyond. The site is recommended for relaxation and as a good base for exploring. While most feedback is overwhelmingly positive, some minor points were raised regarding waste water disposal and lighting, which the management has addressed.

2 bedroom static caravan

Liked Everything!!! This was a last minute decision to book but I am so glad I did . The campsite is set back off the main road and you are surrounded by nature . Birds, bees , trees , flowers , ponds , etc it is so peaceful and tranquil . Amanda ,Kevin and Colin were so friendly and welcoming - couldn't do enough for you ( including giving us some milk I'd forgotten) . Colin spent time with my hubby talking to him as they are both interested in plants ( Colin is very knowledgeable). We even came home with 5 plants they had given us . We stayed in the static caravan and we honestly could not have chosen better , everything was there upon arrival we needed , we travelled with our 19 month old English springer spaniel who has just found a voice !! However Amanda and family came and spoke to us and Milo and they were fine about his mad barking moods he gets . The patio was dog friendly and Amanda provided blankets to cover any furniture up our doggy went on . The weather was gorgeous so we went swimming every day and if Milo got hot we took him into the wet room to cool him off. We loved it so much we extended our stay by 2 days and have booked to go again in August, we will be returning as many times as we possibly can . A huge thanks to Amanda , Kevin and Colin from Julie, Jason and Milo - see you soon xx

Disliked Having to pack up and leave.

It was a pleasure to meet you both and the lovely Milo, hope he's not too tired, after his busy week!

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Lovely welcome from the owener. Made the experience more personal. She showed us around, and let us choose our pitch. She even checked in on us during our stay which made me feel apart of her community.
The shower rooms were spacious and clean. The toilet, shower and sink were all togther in one room, rather than in separate areas and in stalls.
Remote, quiet site which allowed you to fully relax.
The lake was lovely to walk around with the children and great to look for local wildlife.
Pitches were spacious and level with electric and water stations at each pitch.

Disliked It was difficult to empty waste water as we had to lift it up to empty.
The showers/wet room, although provided with cleaning supplies, I feel could do with regular check ups to ensure standards are high.

We have looked into changing the waste, but as most people like it, we decided to leave it as it is.
Unfortunately not everyone leaves the facilities as we would like to find them and I can't check them after every person has uses them, but they are checked and cleaned at least twice a day, more often if the is weather is bad or we are particularly busy.
