This is a peaceful patch of land indeed – Blaenwaun Camping Certified Location has just a handful of touring pitches at a serene setting in rural west Wales, just outside the Carmarthenshire village of Crugybar and about 10 minutes’ drive from Llanwrda. This is a family-run place where owners David and Louise have chosen to keep numbers on site to a minimum in order to maximise the space available for guests to relax, and make the pitches available for members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) only. That means each hardstanding pitch measures a very generous 9 metres by 9 metres, and there's plenty of grassy space left over for picnics/ball games and generally chilling out. These touring pitches each have their own electric and water points, and there's also access to chemical disposal, heated toilets and showers (these require a £1 coin per use). Dogs are welcome, and have their own space to run about in if you haven’t worn them out on local walks. Speaking of walks… there are plenty of places for those around here, whether you choose to stay inland for Brechfa Forest and Llyn Llech Owain Country Park, wander through the western stretches of the Brecon Beacons National Park or head up to the seaside for a walk on the Wales Coast Path.

  • This site only accepts bookings from existing Caravan and Motorhome Club members: please provide your membership number in the 'Special requests' box when booking.
  • Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Dogs

  • The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

Extras

  • A charge of £1.00 applies for the use of the shower.

  • Please note that the toilet/shower facilities are unisex.

  • No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Pitches

  • A cable measuring at least 4 metres is needed for the electric hook-ups.
  • Electricity is metered on site at £0.50 per kWh and must be paid via the website link provided on site by PayPal or debit/credit card. Unused credit can be refunded at the end of your stay by visiting the website.

Liked It’s clean.

Disliked This place is actually only suitable if you are completely self-catering. We were the only ones. There is 1 unit and that is toilet and shower in one. If you are with more people, this is really minimal. The sink is so small that you can only wash your hands in it. If you want to shower you have to pay for it. There is no possibility to get hot water somewhere or do your dishes. Otherwise neat. In retrospect, we thought the price was too high for what you get.

We are a small hard working family run CL.
I wonder if you are not familiar with CL’s, they are mostly very basic. When staying on a CL you are expected to be completely self sufficient.
They are a maximum of 5 pitches and they don’t always come with electric hook up or any toilet/shower facilities. The sink in our toilet is for washing your hands only.

If you had come over to me and expressed your concerns I would have done my best to accommodate your needs.

Liked Large pitches which are quiet. Immaculate toilet and shower facilities. The owner Lou very welcoming. Really enjoyed our stay a shame it was for only 1 night, so definitely will be back.

Peaceful setting and we had the site to ourselves for most of the week.
Lou was very kind and helpful

Disliked There is only one shower/loo facility so could be an issue at peak times. If you don’t have onboard facilities, consider taking a toilet tent and portaloo in summer .

Liked Small welcoming site, quiet area, friendly and helpful owners with clean facilities.

Disliked Only one shower and toilet on site, it didn't really affect us as it was winter and there was only two other Campervans onsite who were self contained but something to be aware of for busier seasons.

Liked Location, within 15/20 mins you can reach multiple forests all with walking and mountain biking trails. The site itself is spotlessly clean with welcoming/helpfull owners

Liked Had a lovely night stays as was first night in caravan.
Beautiful place!
Most wonderful, lovely couple. Went above and beyond to help as they knew it was our first time setting up. Help with an issue we had with the electric cables.
Very clean and lovely facilities.
Could not have chosen a better site.
Would highly recommend, will definitely be back!

Liked Very clean and tidy CL, everything we needed for a couple of nights whilst visiting a nearby bike park. The pitches are of very generous size. All pitches are flat.

Liked The site was beautifully presented, pitches were flat with electrical and water hookup. Excellent facilities that were very clean and well presented. Owners were vey kind and helpful. We had a flat tyre and they rescued us! Helped us pump up the tyre to get to a garage and even drove me to where I needed to be. The ultimate hosts <3 Thank you. We will definitely be back!

This is a great area for lots of outdoorsy activities – head to Brechfa Forest (half an hour's drive) for walks and some of the country’s best mountain bike trails, follow nature trails at Llyn Llech Owain Country Park (35 minutes) or challenge yourselves to a heart-pumping uphill bike climb on the Devil’s Staircase route (50 minutes). More walks can be had in the nearby Brecon Beacons National Park – a popular trail runs around Carreg Cennen Castle (35 minutes), and you can follow it up with lunch in foodie hotspot Llandeilo (20 minutes), which is also home to Dinefwr Castle. Alternatively, head to the coast for walks on the coast path, lunch in Aberaeron (40 minutes), dolphin spotting from New Quay (50 minutes) or days on the beach in Llangrannog (55 minutes).
