A cosy Carmarthenshire stay awaits when you book a break at Black Mountain Escapes – and a scenic one too, because this lovely and luxurious little cabin at the western edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park has fabulous views of the Black Mountain.
Being able to look out over those gorgeous landscapes from your cabin is likely to entice you out to see a bit more of your surroundings – and there’s certainly plenty to see, whether you set out to hike along one of the trails in the national park, dip into the area’s history at places like Carreg Cennen Castle or take a gentle stroll around Aberglasney Gardens.
Having wonderfully rural views all around may convince you that you’ve landed in the middle of nowhere – but while this place is fantastically peaceful, it’s also remarkably well connected, as it’s easily accessed from the A40 and about a mile from Llangadog railway station. There’s a pub and a few shops within walking distance, and bigger Llandeilo and Llandovery are both about 10 minutes’ drive away.
Back at the site after a day of exploring you’ll be staying in a bespoke cabin that was once a traditional laundry room. It’s kept a lot of its character with things like the original fireplace and exposed beams, but had a thorough glow-up with the addition of a hand-crafted kitchen, a cute cabin bed and a modern power shower. Outside, the veranda is a good place to admire the views from – especially if you choose to do that while having a lovely soak in your private hot tub…
