  • Remote glamping site with spectacular views of the Brecon Beacons
  • A 40-minute drive from Llyn y Fan Fach and 50 minutes from Pen Y Fan
  • Local walks and dark skies area; firepits and shared kitchen area
Whether it’s sitting by the pond and spying on the wildlife, tackling the local hills or taking off into the Brecon Beacons National Park, you won’t be twiddling your thumbs at Bwlch Mynydd. This secluded glamping site is on a hill with spectacular views of the Brecon Beacons, but that’s not its only speciality. Birdwatching, local cycling and the starry skies of this dark skies area also add up to make a splendid stay. There’s more than one way to spend an evening here. There are firepits around the site and a shared kitchen area to play chef for the night. Or if you want to make the most of Llandovery’s excellent pubs and restaurants, it’s only 10 minutes’ drive away. In the morning, you’ll be well-set to catch views of the Black Mountains and Llyn y Fan Fach from the site (they’re both under 50 minutes’ drive away, but for the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, it’s only a 15-minute drive). There’s cycling and walks from the site for adventures closer by and excellent birdwatching on site, including goshawks, red kites, kestrels and owls. The site is part of a little smallholding that grows veggies and keeps hens and goats (for milk), so produce is available to buy when the season’s right. Guests and children are welcome to meet the goats. And while it might be nicely remote here, the facilities include a composting toilet and shower room.
