  • Spacious wild camping in a wildflower meadow in Carmarthenshire
  • A 35-minute drive from a beach and castles; moorland walks nearby
  • Alongside a Site of Special Scientific Interest
Craving somewhere to pitch up in privacy with castles and country parks within reach? Styled on wild camping, the pitches at Pine Lodge Stables are especially spacious, so that you may unwind on a roomy one-acre plot in a wildflower meadow 25 minutes’ drive away from the National Botanic Garden of Wales and 35 minutes from a beach, Dinefwr Castle and Kidwelly Castle. Here, each paddock has two pitches, so you’ll be well-separated from other guests. Each pitch is a private area and has access to a shared composting toilet. With other facilities such as a basic cold shower and water supply on site, you’ll be able to keep yourself feeling fresh and deal with any washing up easily too. When you’re settled and ready to scout out the surrounding area, you’ll be in for a treat when it comes to the wildlife, as there's a walk from the site onto a scenic moorland, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, where it’s half a mile to forestry walks. As for somewhere to hunt down some hot foodie spots or the essential supplies for your stay, Carmarthen is 15 minutes’ drive away. Aside from its castle, steam railway and art galleries, here, there are plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants – or there’s a little shop in the petrol station five minutes drive’ away from the site. Foraging walks and sourdough bread or wine making taster sessions can be sorted by arrangement with the site team.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: A perfect site with many spaces to choose from. Remote with no traffic noise. The camping hosts were very friendly and let us have a look at the animals they have near by.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Peacefull place and out of the way which made it nice and peacefull

Disliked: The toilet was a a run down shack that could of done with tiding up but it's a farm what do you expect and the access road was extremely rougth don't requemend for low spring cars. Not been able to park were your pitch is which would mean trading all your camping gear for ages, First field was very ruff and if we camped in the back field would have to trade through a mud bath before getting to the toilet each time.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Very pleasant location and very private in that each pitch was half a field. I was aware of the basic facilities prior to booking and felt that the price reflected these in a fair manner. Kirsty was very helpful.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Loved how private & peaceful the fields are! Plus the owners dogs are so cute & well behaved!! Amazing views from our field, we didn’t want to leave!

Disliked: Would love a proper/solar powered shower however it’s understandable not having one there due to it being wild camping lol :) there is a cold shower/bag provided however.
