Views around the site

  • Relaxed back-to-nature park with stunning Pembrokeshire coast views
  • Less than a mile from Abereiddy Beach and the Blue Lagoon
  • Campfires and dogs allowed
A laidback atmosphere, back-to-nature family camping and easy proximity to the best of Pembrokeshire await at friendly Coastal Stay, a small park tucked away enough to be peaceful but only a few miles from the sights of St Davids. The owners point out that this isn't a hi-tech site, but if you want to build dens with the kids or teach them how to forage blackberries, you should find things very suitable here. It's heavenly stargazing land too – fabulous for watching the skies around a campfire after watching the sun set into the sea at Abereiddy. You should find the views very suitable too, spectacularly stretching out over the north Pembrokeshire Coast National Park in a National Trust conservation area. And the location, less than a mile from Abereiddy beach and the Blue Lagoon, and a mile from the fishing village of Porthgain. Pitches are well spaced out and set around a natural spring-fed lake (please take care around the lake if you have younger kids). Amenities include top-notch bathroom facilities with a double-size hot water power shower, toilet, wash basin and mirror, and a cold water tap and table outside for dishwashing. Coastal Stay also has a kitchen with wood-fired oven cooking up handmade pizzas for guests to take away. Grocery and camping essentials like toilet roll, milk, eggs, spare tent pegs and windbreakers are for sale in the local shop, a mile and a half away. Children and well-behaved dogs are most welcome – you'll find Coastal Stay's own dog, cats and pygmy goats on site as well – but please keep dogs under control and on leads to avoid disturbing other guests.

What customers say

This campsite is praised for its stunning views, peaceful atmosphere, and proximity to coastal walks and Porthgain. Visitors consistently highlight the friendly and hospitable owners, clean and well-maintained facilities including hot showers, and spacious pitches often featuring picnic tables and fire pits. The on-site pizza is a popular draw. While minor issues like the need for longer electric extensions or a desire for Wi-Fi were mentioned, these were generally resolved or did not detract from the overall positive experience, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Electric optional grass tent pitch (medium)

Liked Lovely welcome to the site, although we were a little early this wasn’t an issue. The owner gave us options of where we could pitch our tent . The site was clean and spacious. The views were excellent and the sun set was lovely to see.
The facilities were very clean.
A mile walk to the shop, pub and to the sea. Lovely little village.
We would definitely return.
Out dog lived this location too and could play ball.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Good sized hard standing pitch. Only used as a stop over but facilities were basic but clean. Blue lagoon just down the road, well worth a visit.

Disliked This site is next door to a working farm but still really peaceful.

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked We had an electric hookup pitch for a our van and were very happy with it. Campsite is in a gorgeous location, great views. Well situated to explore the local area. The goats down in the field were a cute addition! Very easy to check in and the hosts were friendly and helpful. The facilities here are great, lovely hot showers and clean bathrooms with mirrors. Nice big washing up area as well. Would definitely recommend!

Electric optional hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Beautiful place to say in the Winter. Only my van and two other vans there. Lovely pub not that far away and the best bit was that all their food was half price during January. Would stay here here again. It is basic but there is everything you need and its clean. the pitches are a good size too.

Local attractions

St Davids, Britain's smallest city, is a few miles down the road and has plenty of places to eat and drink as well as a host of old treasures to see such as St Davids Cathedral and the ruins of the Bishops Palace; very decent surf at Whitesands Bay is a real draw here too. If you're here to hike, a frequent bus service stops right outside the site to and from St Davids, Fishguard and Haverfordwest to access the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. There are also plenty of local walks for all ages and abilities straight from the site and the Coastal Stay pitches overlook a natural valley leading to the sea for a highly scenic walk to Abereiddy. Take the walk from Abereiddy beach over the top of the Blue Lagoon and onto Porthgain, with a pitstop for a bite or drink before catching a bus straight back to the site.
