Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: The exit.
Disliked: Upon arrival, you arrive at ‘Northern Hay Stables’, which is a travellers site. A young lad approached us & helped us where to go. It was just across the lane called ‘Crystal Stables’. We are shown to a ‘pitch’, which I can only describe as a corner of a work yard. A small pitch with multiple cut outs of AstroTurf not laid properly. The boy did say we could have pitched on the field, but this had no electric hook up (what we paid for) It was £17, but I paid the boy £20 as he didn’t have any change. We assumed there would be soft ground under neath the astroturf, but it was concrete & stones. We were physically unable to pitch up our tent. We booked for an electric grass tent pitch. The surroundings were unkept, with a skip directly infront of us, bricks etc & just generally untidy. We didn’t bother to try & get a refund, we stayed for about 20 minutes as we tried to find another campsite to go to, but none was available due to the lateness. It was a good thing we was only 1 hour away from home, as that’s where we went. None of the pictures of pitch up show this ‘pitch’, as I can only imagine that nobody would book to stay here.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked: Very farmyardy with chickens on your doorstep(literally) and horses in their Stables.
Disliked: Not really a dislike but the site was in the middle of refurbishment so the facilities were in a bit of disarray and certainly not worth the £30 charged. £20 would have been the perfect price to pay for this campsite in its current unfinished state. Quite noisy as its close to the M4 motorway.

Electric hardstanding touring caravan pitch
Liked: The owners were wonderful- polite, kind and very helpful even parking my van for me as I was tired at the end of a long drive. The toilet and shower were spotlessly clean. Beautiful walk up the hill to the ridgeway area of Newport with spectacular views across Newport to the south and the hills to the North.
Disliked: A little close to the M4 so we had some “White Noise” but I think this helped my grandson sleep well.

Liked: Sam and his lovely wife gave us a warm welcome. The kids had a great time near the chickens and horses. This is a wonderful spot for both short and long walks. There are toilet and shower facilities on-site, as well as additional facilities just a minute's walk away at their other location. Very good value for money
Disliked: Nothing to dislike here.

Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch
Liked: The pitch space but only as we were the only ones there. Plus nice walks on the doorstop which was great for our dogs.
Disliked: The chickens and vicious rooster. The constant noise from the M4. The shower and toilet were still being decorated and we were greeted with paint pots, plaster trays, dirt and general mess on the floor plus no door handle which ended up with me being locked in the shower room for 20 mins until my partner thankfully came to rescue me. Only escape would be to climb out of the window!!!
