What customers say
This site offers a peaceful, "wild-ish" camping experience with lovely views and privacy. Pitches are spacious, and controlled fires are permitted. Facilities include clean toilets and drinking water. While some guests found the site slightly expensive for the basic amenities, others appreciated its lo-fi approach and proximity to Monmouth. The hosts are described as friendly and responsive. The site has since reduced the number of pitches for the 2026 season.

Amazing wild, peaceful and quiet site…
Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked Amazing wild, peaceful and quiet site within walking distance to town centre with buses stopping nearby. Water point is near the
Compost toilets, which were clean and well stocked. There are rocks for firepits but no kindling or wood sold on site.
Disliked Then steps to the compost toilets and the sink draining where youre standing.

Liked Nice location. Plenty of room in each pitch. Good toilets with hand wash. Pleasant and helpful hosts who are there if needed and invisible the rest of the time.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked Beautiful and peaceful surroundings - left wild and natural - compost toilets absolutely fine. Swifts in the barn highly entertaining - wonderful local walks with no need to drive anywhere. Host extremely responsive and flexible.

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked Nice, wild-ish set up with lovely views around. Long grass and some stone structure between pitches allowed for more privacy than most farm campsites. Toilets, drinking water, and rubbish disposal available, what more do you need?
Disliked The steps leading up to the toilet are a bit scary!

Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked Lovely lo-fi campsite. Quiet and appreciated being able to have fire pits and being left alone.
Disliked I think it's slightly expensive considering the lack of facilities. A palette or something to stand on at the sink would be helpful as the ground gets very muddy.

A great peaceful spot

Very affordable site with easy access…
Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked Very affordable site with easy access to the stunning river Wye. It is a semi-wild camping site which is what I enjoy - I'd rather a few nettle stings than a boring mown pitch. The compost toilet was a brilliant example of why they're so good - clean and no smell.
Disliked Personally, I thought there were just a few too many pitches for the size of the field (which isn't huge, but is at least split in two via a hedge/wall). It was fine though, everyone was polite and noise wasn't an issue.

From the manager: Thanks so much for taking the time to give us feedback. We've taken this on board and actually reduced the number of pitches in the space for the 2026 season.
Great campsite. Very quiet and perfect…
Non-electric grass and earth tent pitch
Liked Great campsite. Very quiet and perfect for a night or 2. Proper old fashioned site that allows fires and bbqs. Water tap and toilet on site. Everything explained by owners, so no surprises. Short walk to town. Would stay again.
Disliked Be aware there is a friendly dog on farm and it does leave its mark around car park area. 😉
