A limestone gorge, the river Wye and stunning destinations like the ruins of Abaty Tyndyrn (Tintern Abbey) – no wonder you’re looking at a break in the Wye Valley National Landscape. Well, launch your explorations at Troy Farm Camping… ‘Best of both worlds’ is a phrase that certainly applies at this site, where the nearly-wild pitches have stunning views on the edge of the Wye Valley and yet also stand 15 minutes’ walk away from the outskirts of Monmouth. In town, there are plenty of places to eat, drink or people-watch (or indeed, all three at the same time). If country walks are more your thing, Troy Farm Camping deserves another brownie point. It has easy access to three public footpaths heading to Penalt, Redbrook, Mitchel Troy and beyond. As for any of you who want to visit iconic Wye Valley destinations, the site is a 20-minute drive from Abaty Tyndyrn (Tintern Abbey) and 25 minutes from the Eagle's Nest lookout. About the site: the working dairy farm has 300 milking cows which you may well see grazing around the fields during your stay (that’s why it's kept dog-free). Vehicles must be left in the car park; the walk from the car park to the pitch’s ranges from around 55 to 200 metres, so you should bring a trolley if you think you'll need one. For quick trips out, a perfumery is opposite the site and there is a pottery studio a short drive away. Guided wild swimming sessions are available with a local company and can be arranged through the site.

Gostou Great site, in beautiful countryside setting. Nice compostable toilets.
Easy mile walk into Monmouth, used leisure center there for shower, £2.80. Not crowded, as lots of space at site.
Sounds of owls and wildlife at night was nice.

Não gostou Drank water from the water source provided at site, tasted of plastic due to long plastic pipes transporting to the sink and in middle of summer, so water. had sat in pipes in sun. . So ended up buying bottled water to drink. Would be great if somewhere to charge phone.

Gostou Amazing wild, peaceful and quiet site within walking distance to town centre with buses stopping nearby. Water point is near the
Compost toilets, which were clean and well stocked. There are rocks for firepits but no kindling or wood sold on site.

Gostou Nice location. Plenty of room in each pitch. Good toilets with hand wash. Pleasant and helpful hosts who are there if needed and invisible the rest of the time.

Gostou Beautiful and peaceful surroundings - left wild and natural - compost toilets absolutely fine. Swifts in the barn highly entertaining - wonderful local walks with no need to drive anywhere. Host extremely responsive and flexible.

Gostou Nice, wild-ish set up with lovely views around. Long grass and some stone structure between pitches allowed for more privacy than most farm campsites. Toilets, drinking water, and rubbish disposal available, what more do you need?

Não gostou The steps leading up to the toilet are a bit scary!

Gostou Lovely lo-fi campsite. Quiet and appreciated being able to have fire pits and being left alone.

Não gostou I think it's slightly expensive considering the lack of facilities. A palette or something to stand on at the sink would be helpful as the ground gets very muddy.

Gostou Lovely and peaceful. Toilets very clean. Welcoming . Will definitely be returning. You can have a walk into Monmouth took 20 minutes. Dogs onsite are friendly. Thank you for sharing your lovely space it was lovely to have a little insight into a working dairy farm . Thank you for the wheelbarrow was much appreciated

Gostou We were the only people on campsite, it was beautiful and peaceful! The toilets were immaculate and it was a great location. Easy to park car and walk to camp spot. We felt very secluded
