What customers say

This campsite boasts stunning locations, often by a stream or with reservoir views, and exceptionally friendly staff. Many praise the good value, on-site activities, and convenient parking. However, some visitors note cleanliness issues in toilet and shower blocks, long walks to facilities from certain pitches, and occasional Wi-Fi unreliability. Despite some areas needing attention, many found it a beautiful and peaceful place for outdoor pursuits.

Reservoir View 1 bedroom camping pod

Liked Nice location. Good views.

Disliked Sheep allowed to roam all over public areas. Their poop all over the grass and walkways. No one cleaning up after them. Also outdoor lighting at the pod not working. Though I understand the need for plastic plates and cups at the campsite, cheap bendy cutlery was just awful.

Reservoir View 1 bedroom camping pod

Liked Great location, Response and service were great.

Disliked Not dislikes but these could have been better,

1. We haven't got woods for our campfire at our site
2. Price seems to be expensive

Would come back again to try the other activities.

Reservoir View non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked We liked views , facilities were great. Nice walking distance paths. We didnt really needed to get out of the campsite as a lot avilable on site.

Disliked Parcels are way too close to eachother. We felt like we are sleeping with others in the same tent. Slightly gaps or less pitches in a row would make a huge difference.

Stream Side non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Peaceful location, lovely to be able to pitch so close to running water, very helpful staff, convenient café/reception. Fantastic views from the top of site. Easy access onto The Gap mountain bike loop directly from site. Amazing value for solo campers, though.

Disliked Waterside pitch area gets very busy. Fairly awkward walk from the car to the pitch area. Wheelbarrows a nice idea but pretty useless on that path. Shower block very dated and gradually flooded around the urinals while I was there. No soap in the dispenser over the sinks. Really poor and unreliable WiFi provision. Sheep poo all over the camping field. Access roads are at times uncomfortably narrow for two-way traffic.

Reservoir View non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Everything!!

Disliked Just a suggestion: the showers need a shelf to place clothes and toiletries, please!
Take earplugs as the sheep are a bit noisy.

Local attractions

Keen on investigating south Wales' industrial heritage? Set off to Cyfarthfa Castle (20 minutes’ drive) for a mansion belonging to the Crawshays, the family who owned the old Cyfarthfa Ironworks, or head further (45 minutes) to the aristocratic Bute clan's Castell Coch, a fairytale building designed by architect William Burgess. Visitors to the area can also turn back time to the 1600s at the National Trust’s Tredegar House (50 minutes) while meandering around a Charles II-era mansion and gardens. Treat yourself to a tipple afterwards as a reward for being so cultural at the Penderyn Distillery Visitor Centre, where tastings of the famed Welsh whisky as well as chocolate-making classes can be had 25 minutes’ drive from the park. If the wild’s where you want to be, Horseshoe Falls in the Beacons is 40 minutes’ drive away for walks beside water, and the popular market towns of Crickhowell and Brecon are the same distance if you’d rather ply pretty high streets. For fab scenery a little further on, Sirhowy Valley Country Park is 50 minutes away.
