  • Bell tent stays for over-10s with Snowdonia views in the distance
  • A 15-minute drive to Traeth Lligwy beach and the Anglesey coastal path
  • Private bathroom, kitchen area and decking overlooking a koi pond
Not only is Bellavita biwtiful – as the locals might call its spectacular setting with far-reaching views out over Snowdonia (see pics) – it’s also a prime place for a private stay on the north Wales island of Anglesey. You see, this site set behind an old rectory is made up of a single luxury glamping tent for your exclusive use… Make the most of this crowd-free hideout and pull up a chair on the outdoor decking overlooking the big koi fish pond for afternoon naps under the sun; sheltering indoors is just as comfy too as your tent includes a sofa to stretch out on with a cosy logburning stove for cooler days. If relaxing tends to get you hungry, head outside to the barbecue and camp kitchen to get some alfresco grub on the go: you’ll need the sustenance to take on the ace attractions and activities available on Anglesey, from pottering on the multicoloured former mining trails of Parys Mountain (within a half an hour walk) to joining the island-wide coastal path from scenic beaches like Traeth Lligwy 15 minutes’ drive away. Tired out from such energetic pursuits, retreat back to this stylish site – even the bathroom is trendy at Bellavita, having been hand-crafted by the host from a horse trailer with a full-size shower, sink and toilet – to huddle up on one of the hammocks or doze on your kingsize bed before waking up the next morning and doing it all over again… If you’re travelling with older kids or teenagers, kids over 10 years old are welcome at Bellavita.

Local attractions

For a relatively compact island, Anglesey’s got a lot going for it – so get ready to explore heritage-listed castles, ancient monuments, grand gardens and stately homes during a stay at Bellavita. After heading over to the isle across the 19th-century Menai Suspension Bridge, veer east towards the medieval town of Beaumaris for its fantastic fortifications and moat, as well as an old gaol with Victorian-era punishment cells (35 minutes’ drive from the park). Stop at (deep breath…) Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch along the way (30 minutes’ drive) and attempt to learn this tongue-twisting town’s name, or leave the mastery of the Welsh language to the locals and turn your attention to the beaches instead – Anglesey’s coast is nothing short of spectacular, with the top stretches of shoreline on the island including Traeth Llydan and Benllech beach, both within a half-hour drive.
