  • Family-friendly Isle of Anglesey site three miles from Cemlyn Bay
  • A 10-minute drive from several beaches; 20 minutes from copper mines
  • Food shop and two pubs nearby; barbecues allowed on the site
A fan of the outdoors? This is likely to be a wise base for you, as the surrounding countryside and coast are crisscrossed with lots of walking, cycling and mountain biking trails (whichever you choose). Plus with the Isle of Anglesey’s sights, such as Amlwch’s copper mines (over at the Copper Kingdom Centre, 20 minutes’ drive away), museums and activity centres nearby, there are no shortages of things to do. Feel like jetting out to sea on a boat ride or rummaging through rockpools? There are several beaches within 10 minutes’ drive of the site. The nearest, Cemlyn Bay, is a peaceful National Trust beach and lagoon just five minutes’ drive away… walk on the shingle ridge walk and spy on the waterbirds over the lagoon. Tend to your tummy well, as there’s a small food shop five minutes’ drive away. And for a meal out, duck into one of two pubs five minutes’ drive away or take a 10-minute drive to one of the beachside cafés, restaurants or pubs around the coast. On site, things are kept fairly simple. Bring your barbecue gear, as they’re permitted and save any grizzly bits for your dog (they’re welcome on site).

Electric optional grass tent or trailer tent pitch (sea view)

Liked: Stunning location within easy reach of Porth Swtan and Cemaes. It was very clean and tidy. Great toilet and shower facilities. The hosts were friendly and warm. Along with a shop there were also park and petting facilities for the children. Fire pits and hot tub available for hire.

The Hideaways electric optional grass tent pitch (secluded)

Liked: Camping with my Wife, Brother and Dog. Wife’s first ever time camping, she loved it and we are planning our next trips. This site made that possible. - Great and clean amenities - Tidy and well kept grounds - Friendly and welcoming hosts - Ability for hideaway bookings - Rural location - Dog friendly - Family run and family feel - Petting zoo - Additional extras (jacuzzi, ice bath, pool table and more) - Access to great areas of Anglesey

Disliked: - Booking flexibility for smaller tents & small groups could give better value for money. Pitches are big enough for multiple tents.

Electric optional grass pitch (sea view)

Liked: This is a super little site that I think will flourish in time with all the new planted trees around the pitches I like med the space and feel of the site . The manager and owner was so welcoming and committed to Green spaces which was a plus. It’s a site I would love to visit again with super views and easy access to so many lovely bays. The facilities are clean and well set out. I am older solo traveller in my camper van but felt very safe My daughter came in her van and joined me and really liked the space of the pitches I would suggest no ball games around pitches to protect all those amazing new young trees that have been planted . It will look amazing when they are grown Well done !!!!

Disliked: There is nothing I disliked But access to more water taps would be good They might have been there and I just did not find them so apologies

Electric optional grass touring pitch (mountain view)

Liked: I don’t normally write reviews but feel like I have to! There isn’t anything we disliked about this place I’d rate it higher if I could, the staff are so lovely, helpful and a good laugh too. We loved the location of the site as it was in the middle of so many beaches, coves an little towns so we went on loads of adventures and we felt happy and secure leaving our pitch an belongings whilst out an about due to the cctv around the site and the views from the site are lovely at all times of the day! The little cafe on site has really nice food enjoyed the breakfast so much and again the staff were so fun and friendly, The kids loved everything there was to do there never got bored once, I haven’t bothered rating the Wi-Fi as it wasn’t advertised nor did we need it as we had full signal an 4G the hole time. We will 100% percent be back to this site in the future and we can’t wait thanks guys!!

Disliked: NOT A DISLIKE……we never had an issue it’s just a suggestion maybe in the future add a couple more just toilets as we think maybe in the height of summer at it’s busiest there maybe long waits just in the mornings whilst people are taking showers we no as a couple with 2 toddlers we took up the family bathroom for a while and this may get annoying if you’re desperate for the loo lol but then again we haven’t stayed there in the summer so this might not even be an issue just something we think may be an issue the toilet am showers we really nice modern and clean best I’ve seen on a site, and still can’t wait to come back

Electric optional grass pitch (sea view)

Liked: Lovely couple and very helpful

Disliked: Very poor washing facilities, only one space available once you'd avoided the mud, so had to wait to do your dishes in very poor cold water, big lack of sufficient hot running water, only 2 toilets and 2 showers for over 48 pitches, I know it was only the the start to the season with mud everywhere and very uneven pitches, No TV signal on site and No network or WiFi available, our pitch was right next to the main road, separated by a fence, for the price of £140 for 3 night stay, which is the most expensive sites we've stayed on with very poor facilities, shame really as lovely view's

From the manager: Hi Neil Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Could we ask next time you do that you leave a honest review as false information can be detrimental to businesses. Yes we did have a wet day Friday but luckily the weather changed come Saturday for the rest of the Easter weekend. We have 5 toilet/shower wash rooms NOT 2. We have 17 pitches NOT 48 pitches. We do not advertise WiFi available from the site. Most people have no problem with signal and 4G. The pitch you was in you picked. You never paid £140 it was £120 plus £12 for your greener camping membership. One thing we can agree on is our amazing views. Kind regards Sam & Luke

Bella bell tent

Liked: We had the option of either the Bella Tent or the Taylor Swift tourer and I have to say it was such a hard pick but having a hob to cook my bacon sarnies on was the deciding factor. There is plenty of choice of accommodation on site whether you’re a hard core camper or like the luxury of a shepherds hut or tourer like us. A clubhouse with a dart board, pool table and a bouncy castle for the kids. If you’re feeling peckish, the ladies in the cafe will whip you up a juicy burger or a jacket potato filled with toppings and plenty of choice of breakfasts. We picked up these lovely metal mugs with a Carabina for a handle, made by a local business. These are so handy for walks and can just be clipped onto your rucksack. And there is loads of choices for toys, games and presents in the onsite shop. Luke and Sam are such great hosts and we’re always around for a chat or help when needed! They take complete pride and joy on their site and have a great story behind the campsite - definitely ask them about it! We can’t wait to come back again!

Liked: Campsite is really great, we had a lovely stay. The owners were really helpful getting us on the pitch in poor weather. Facilities are good and the shop is fab! Location not far from shops and towns/villages with pubs/restaurants and near coast for lots of walking. Dog friendly too, we look forward to coming back one day.

Disliked: Nothing.

Local attractions

Beach day? Pick and choose between coves… will it be the swimming down at the sheltered Traeth Bach (10 minutes' drive)? Kitesurfing, windsurfing or regular surfing at Lligwy Beach (25 minutes)? Or perhaps peering into the rockpools and fishing at Porth Padrig (10 minutes) and Porth Trwyn (10 minutes) or the rather remote Traeth Ynys y Fydlyn (10 minutes)? Swap the saltwater for freshwater and tackle the walking trails around the peaceful Llyn Alaw (15 minutes), Anglesey’s largest lake. If you’re on the lookout for more wildlife, you may want to take a boat trip to Puffin Island (an hour) or scout out the butterfly house and meerkat tunnels at Pili Palas Nature World (half an hour). Feel a little like a farmer feeding the animals and going on tractor rides at Foel Farm Park (40 minutes). If you’re more interested in animals of the marine kind, perhaps the tanks at Anglesey Sea Zoo (45 minutes) will also entertain you. For something a little different, stroll around the stately gardens at the National Trust’s Plas Newydd House and Gardens (35 minutes) to see where the fashionable people used to go.
