  • Spacious Anglesey site a little way inland from the coast at Pentraeth
  • Red Wharf Bay and Benllech beaches five minutes' drive away
  • Play area, games field and dog-walking field on site
Just a little way inland from Pentraeth’s sandy beach, Rhos Farm Caravan Park gives you excellent access to Anglesey’s north coast while also providing a bit of shelter from seaside breezes. The pitches here are spacious and secure, with a good number of facilities provided to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Guests have access to a launderette, a washing-up area, a wifi connection and clean, well-maintained bathrooms with toilets and showers (with accessible facilities). The village is a couple of minutes’ drive away for food supplies and there’s a pub five minutes’ walk away for drinks and meals. As it’s a fairly site, there’s also space set aside for outdoor fun – kids can play at the playground or head over to one of the dedicated fields for ball games, cycling, kite flying and the like. Bring the dogs along too – there’s a dog-walking field where you can give them a good stretch of the legs. Those of you who are intending to head out on the water may also be happy to hear that there’s space on site for boat parking. Up here on Anglesey’s north coast you’ll be well situated for several beaches including Red Wharf Bay, Benllech beach and Lligwy beach, plus various attractions including the colourful landscapes of Parys Mountain, the colourful butterflies of Pili Palas Nature World and the imposing Beaumaris Castle. That said, it won’t take long to get to any part of the island you’d like to see – even Holyhead, at the far western edge, is only half an hour’s drive.

What customers say

This well-maintained, clean campsite offers spacious, level pitches and a friendly welcome. Facilities, particularly the shower blocks, are frequently praised as immaculate. Highlights include a secure dog walking field, multiple play areas for children, and a convenient location for exploring local beaches and attractions. While most reviews are positive, a few guests noted issues with shower temperature, token costs, and minor design impracticalities in the facilities.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Dog Feild. Well kept and very spacious for a dog to have a good run.

Disliked If you’re thinking a camping trip with the kids might be the wallet-friendly option, do yourself a favor and steer clear of this site. It may look well-kept on the surface, but oh boy—it comes with more hidden charges than a low-cost airline.

Let’s start with the basics. If you fancy a shower, be ready to feed the machine £1 for a grand total of 8 look warm minutes. That’s fine if you’ve got short hair or don’t mind keeping your yeti legs and pit forests au naturel. But here’s the kicker: if you wander a little further to the residents’ block, they get their showers for free. FREE. Same water, different postcode. Go figure.

Need to stay in touch with your people? Maybe share some scenic snaps or stream some CBeebies to keep the kids entertained? That’ll be £8 per device—for Wi-Fi that’s so weak it makes dial-up look like fibre. Want actual signal? Just take a scenic stroll to the end of the drive where, miraculously, it returns. Magic? Nope—just stingy.

Late checkout? Sure! Just hand over £20 and enjoy the wild luxury of staying until… 2pm. Apparently, those 3 extra hours equal half a day, at least according to the woman on reception. Not sure what time zone they’re operating in, but it’s definitely not Earth Standard Time.

And here’s the cherry on the cake: The week before, we were in Anglesey at another lovely site and asked this one if we could store our caravan for a few days between trips. I was happy to pay a storage fee. “Sorry, no storage,” they said—but they’d let us leave it on a pitch for a whopping £160. Hard pass. Ended up storing it for £20 at a different site. And would you believe it? While walking the dog around this site, we spotted a massive field full of speedboats and jet skis. So, storage does exist... just not for peasants like us.

In the end, this place is a perfect example of what’s draining the joy (and bank accounts) out of camping and caravanning. We’ve stayed at plenty of sites that include all these "extras" for free and still come out cleaner, friendlier, and cheaper. This site? It’s got no love for the camping life—just pound signs in its eyes.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback following your recent stay. We genuinely appreciate hearing from our guests, even when their experience falls short of expectations, as it helps us reflect and improve.
We’re sorry to hear that certain aspects of your visit did not meet your expectations and that you felt there were too many additional charges. We do aim to be transparent about our pricing and the optional nature of certain amenities such as Wi-Fi and shower tokens.
Regarding the shower facilities: the newly refurbished block closest to the casual camping and touring field operates on a token system (£1 for 8 minutes), primarily to encourage water conservation. However, all guests are also welcome to use the older shower block at the far end of the park, where showers operate on a push-button system and run for approximately one minute at a time.
We also offer late check-outs when possible. The charge is £20, and guests are welcome to stay until the end of the day, not just until 2pm. We apologise if this was not clearly communicated during your stay.
As for caravan storage, unfortunately, we do not currently offer a formal storage service. The field you mentioned is designated for boat storage for seasonal and static owners only. The £160 you were quoted reflects the cost of leaving a tourer on a pitch for four nights, which includes full access to site services.
We’re truly sorry that your overall experience was disappointing. While we may not be the right fit for everyone, we are always working to strike a fair balance between quality and value. Your feedback has been noted and will be shared with our team as part of our ongoing improvement efforts.
Thank you again for your comments, and we wish you all the best in your future camping adventures.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Location, dog walking field and availability.

Disliked uneven pitch, slightly more expensive for what you get, smelly bins, strong oder from toilets or washing up area, have to pay for showers and rules not adhered to.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. We're especially sorry to hear that your stay this time didn’t meet the standards you’ve come to expect after over 12 years of visiting. We truly value your loyalty and are grateful for your honest and thoughtful feedback.
We’re disappointed to hear that several aspects of your stay fell short, including the pitch condition, cleanliness of facilities, and overall value. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Our bins are collected on a weekly basis and are located away from the camping area. The toilet block including washing up facilities are cleaned on a daily basis but we will review our cleaning schedules with our staff, especially during busier periods.
Our wardens are resident on Park and carry out regular walk arounds to check on the behaviour of guests. However, we will look at ways our team can be more visible around the park to support a better overall experience for all guests.
As for the shower tokens, we understand your concern about added costs. While the token system helps us manage water usage sustainably, we will certainly consider your feedback in any future pricing or facility reviews.
We hope to welcome you back again and restore your confidence in what we offer.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Lovely site close to the coast. Easy access to some wonderful walks. Staff were friendly and walked us around to our pitch. Loads of room for the children to play. Two parks. One for older children and one for little children. Great facilities which were clean. Big field for dogs to run free. Big field for children to play football. Two lovely pubs within walking distance and a spar for essentials. Will definitely be back!

Liked The site was very clean with great washing facilities. The bathrooms look very modern and kept spotless. The shower was nice. The site was quiet when we went. Great little park and football field which my boys loved. Only a short drive to stunning beaches.

Local attractions

Being so close to the coast, you’ll certainly want to set out to explore some of it – perhaps taking a walk along a section of the Anglesey Coast Path, looking out for birds at Red Wharf Bay (five minutes’ drive) or hitting the sands at Benllech beach (five minutes), a great spot for sandcastles, rockpooling and messing about in the shallows. If you’re in the mood for a burst of adrenaline, there are several places along the coast that offer fast-paced RIB rides either along the coast, around the Menai Bridge or out to Puffin Island (where puffins are usually in residence from April to mid-July). It’s also not far to get back to the mainland for the adventure activities at ZipWorld Penrhyn Quarry (half an hour). Sticking to Anglesey, you could take the kids to meet butterflies and other bugs at Pili Palas Nature World (10 minutes), see marine life at Anglesey Sea Zoo or pet cute animals at Foel Farm Park (both 20 minutes). For a history hit, visit Beaumaris Castle (15 minutes), or walk through the former copper mines at Parys Mountain (25 minutes).
