  • Tiny CAMC members-only site in the Anglesey village of Llanfachraeth
  • A 10-minute drive to Holyhead; half an hour to Parys Mountain
  • Pub and shop five minutes' walk; coast path within walking distance
Got your eye on a properly peaceful experience over in the west of the Isle of Anglesey? If you’re a Caravan and Motorhome Club member, you’ll find just that at Bedd y Cor Certificated Location, a tiny members-only site just outside the village of Llanfachraeth. This is the kind of place where you can park up and then head out on foot, either for a long walk on the Anglesey Coastal Path (accessed from the site via a path by the Afon Alaw estuary) or the short five-minute amble to the village, which has a food pub and a well-stocked corner shop. That said, those looking to explore further afield can do so easily thanks to the nearby A5025, which will take you to either the north or south coast or link you up with the A55 for destinations east and west. Holyhead, for example, is an easy 10 minutes’ drive away, while Beaumaris (right at the other end of the island) is about 35 minutes. It all adds up to a fine choice for those who’d like to explore everything the island has to offer, but also come home to a splendidly quiet little site for the night. In terms of facilities, this is a very simple site with just a chemical disposal point provided – it’s worth noting that there are no guest toilets or showers here, so you’ll need to be self sufficient on that front.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch (members only)

Liked What is there not to like? A beautiful site, with water at each area. Electric hook ups for each area. We loved it. It's in a quiet area, with a decent pub, and a lovely village stores. Easy to get to, and run by a lovely family.

Excellent small site, friendly staff, level hardstanding pitches.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch (members only)

Liked Beautiful small site. Wendy has really gone the extra mile and it shows. A small welcome 'shed' is provided with useful information on the local area and comes complete with dog treats for your furry friends. Wendy was very friendly and came and introduced herself and gave us information on walks and the locale, including the pub which is close by. The site is spotless. The estuary is just at the bottom of a short path and there are lovely walks in all directions. We found it just perfect.

Local attractions

You’ll have heaps of choice for great places to walk nearby – as well as the stretch of coast path close to the site, seek out other favourite locations like the industrial remains near Porth Wen (20 minutes’ drive), the birdwatching hotspot of Llyn Alaw (15 minutes) or the colourful landscapes of Parys Mountain (half an hour), a former copper mine. As well as the scenic coast path, Anglesey’s coastline has lots of lovely beaches to seek out, whether you like a hidden cove like Porth Trwyn (10 minutes), a sandy stretch like Benllech (half an hour) or a watersports location like Rhosneigr (20 minutes). Coastal landmarks like South Stack Lighthouse (20 minutes) and Ynys Llanddwyn (40 minutes) are worth checking out too. For other days out, try National Trust - Plas Newydd House and Gardens (half an hour), Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens (half an hour) and Beaumaris Castle (35 minutes), left unfinished and now billed as ‘the greatest castle never built’. It’s also worth noting that this site is well located for Holyhead (10 minutes) and its ferries to Ireland.
