  • Tiny CAMC members-only site in the Anglesey village of Llanfachraeth
  • A 10-minute drive to Holyhead; half an hour to Parys Mountain
  • Pub and shop five minutes' walk; coast path within walking distance
Got your eye on a properly peaceful experience over in the west of the Isle of Anglesey? If you’re a Caravan and Motorhome Club member, you’ll find just that at Bedd y Cor Certificated Location, a tiny members-only site just outside the village of Llanfachraeth. This is the kind of place where you can park up and then head out on foot, either for a long walk on the Anglesey Coastal Path (accessed from the site via a path by the Afon Alaw estuary) or the short five-minute amble to the village, which has a food pub and a well-stocked corner shop. That said, those looking to explore further afield can do so easily thanks to the nearby A5025, which will take you to either the north or south coast or link you up with the A55 for destinations east and west. Holyhead, for example, is an easy 10 minutes’ drive away, while Beaumaris (right at the other end of the island) is about 35 minutes. It all adds up to a fine choice for those who’d like to explore everything the island has to offer, but also come home to a splendidly quiet little site for the night. In terms of facilities, this is a fairly simple site with toilets, showers and a chemical disposal point.

What customers say

A beautiful, clean and quiet small site in a great location for coastal walks and the local pub. Visitors highlight the warm welcome from Wendy and her family, who go the extra mile with thoughtful touches. Well-maintained pitches, some with water and electric, offer plenty of space. The site is peaceful and easy to find, with a shop nearby. Future guests can anticipate the addition of showers and toilets next year.

Liked Warm welcome, lovely little site in a good location and great value. The kids loved the outdoor games provided. Bathroom was very nice too. Will definitely be returning.

Disliked An extra loo would be good for those without their own facilities as the only loo is in the bathroom so have to wait if some is using the shower

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch (members only)

Liked The location.

A clean, quiet and tidy site. The price was very competitive for a May Bank Holiday. The clean toilet/shower facility was appreciated as were the friendly staff/owner. The site is only two hundred metres walk. from a friendly pub with good food/beer. A bus stop to Holyhead was next to the pub (excellent for a day visit) and a good convenience store was next to the pub.

The location was great for walks along the estuary, on both the right and left bank (from the campsite) to the coastal paths. You can walk for hours if you wish. Beautiful scenery/beaches, particularly Eastwards along the coastal path.

Wish we had stayed longer than the the 5 nights.

Great stopover for those using the Holyhead/Dublin ferry.

Disliked The following are minor picky points and did not detract from the overall holiday experience:

Only one toilet/shower facility. Albeit the site is small and there are only 6 camping spots; two toilet/shower facilities would be an improvement, because some inconsiderate campers took 15 minutes in the shower and kept you waiting. I take about two minutes 😂

It is appreciated the site is developing and hopefully more showers will be available in the future.

A roof cover over the dish washing area would be appreciated during rainy weather ☔️ although getting wet while enjoying the washing up….not a big problem! A hot water tap to save taking a kettle of hot water to the dish washing area would be a bonus.

Having sain this, I’m just a grumpy old fart who has shower and hot water dish washing facilities in the campervan but still prefers to use those on site.

Liked Spacious clean tidy pitches . Friendly owners , quiet location and 3 minutes walk to pub .

Disliked Wasn’t expecting toilet facilities so it was a bonus however it was frustrating having toilet in with shower room , did mean you did have to wait to just use toilet and the site wasn’t full .

Local attractions

You’ll have heaps of choice for great places to walk nearby – as well as the stretch of coast path close to the site, seek out other favourite locations like the industrial remains near Porth Wen (20 minutes’ drive), the birdwatching hotspot of Llyn Alaw (15 minutes) or the colourful landscapes of Parys Mountain (half an hour), a former copper mine. As well as the scenic coast path, Anglesey’s coastline has lots of lovely beaches to seek out, whether you like a hidden cove like Porth Trwyn (10 minutes), a sandy stretch like Benllech (half an hour) or a watersports location like Rhosneigr (20 minutes). Coastal landmarks like South Stack Lighthouse (20 minutes) and Ynys Llanddwyn (40 minutes) are worth checking out too. For other days out, try National Trust - Plas Newydd House and Gardens (half an hour), Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens (half an hour) and Beaumaris Castle (35 minutes), left unfinished and now billed as ‘the greatest castle never built’. It’s also worth noting that this site is well located for Holyhead (10 minutes) and its ferries to Ireland.
