What customers say

This is a well-maintained and exceptionally clean campsite with modern facilities, particularly noted for its immaculate toilets and showers. Pitches are spacious and often fully serviced, with many offering beautiful views. Its convenient location provides easy access to Anglesey and North Wales attractions. Some guests mention noise from nearby roads and trains, and a few note pitches can be sloped. Overall, visitors highly recommend it for its cleanliness, facilities, and friendly owners, with many planning return visits.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked Toilet Emptying System - was right on the pitch next to the waste water outlet not seen that before on a site.
Pitch was very level
It was a quiet site.
One Way System VERY good idea.
There was a list of Emergency Phone Numbers available including a Vet's.
There was an Ice Cream Van visited the site (wasn't expensive either, wished he visited more than once thou was very tasty).
Solar Light on each pitch, and Artificial grass for awning to go on(brilliant idea saves on brown patches of grass everywhere when people go home after visit).

Disliked The free 'WIFI' didn't actually work (wouldn't connect).
Not enough One Way System Signs (people were going threw the 'No Entry Direction' in the wrong direct and the same with the Entry Only Direction they was ignoring the one way system so needs either bigger signs or more of them (maybe do a double backed sign which has one side saying 'No Exit' and the other side 'No Entry' could be mounted on the solar lights on each pitch facing the direct of intended traffic flow).
Site slightly exposed - low/thin hedge rows so not much protection from the strong winds that no-one can predict.

Fully-serviced hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked What a beautiful site. It was our first trip in our touring caravan and we would definitely return. The site is accessable, the pitches spacious and view of the mountains breathtaking. In addition the swings/slides and football goals kept our children entertained, the location is great for many places around the island and the cleaning facilities were brilliant, clean and well maintained. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Electric grass pitch

Liked This campsite is so well maintained and friendly. With it being a smaller, family-run campsite you can feel the difference. Communication prior to our arrival was great including an email days before to inform us of our pitch number and all the helpful details such as how to find the site, who to contact out-of-hours etc. When we arrived the site was smart, clean and well laid-out. The toilets/showers were immaculate at all times and each individual pitch had their own electricity and water supply meaning we didn’t have to trek across the site to collect water daily.
We had a spacious pitch which was big enough for our XL tent and gazebo as well as space for parking the car. There was a small play area for kids which proved very popular and a huge field (with goal posts) for letting the kids run wild and exercising the dogs. The views were gorgeous and nothing was too much trouble. We had such a fabulous time and will definitely be back. You’re a little bit out in the middle of nowhere but there is a co-op and a cluster of small independent shops/takeaways just a mile or so down the road. Everything you need is only a short drive away and there are so many things to do/see nearby.

Disliked Previous reviews have mentioned the noise from the nearby expressway which I did notice upon arrival, however, by the time we’d settled in and were ready for bed it had become white noise in the distance. Even during the busy hours you couldn’t really distinguish it from the sound of children laughing, playing and adults chatting. I barely registered it during the entire stay. There is also a train line somewhere close by (the site is very close to the famous train station) and occasionally you’d hear trains in the distance but again, this just became background noise and we barely noticed it!!
I can’t think of a single negative aspect of our stay so please don’t let the other mentions of traffic noise etc put you off.

Electric grass pitch

Liked We stayed for 7 nights at Ael y Garnedd. We had been recommended by family and we will be recommending the site to others!
Pitches are very clearly marked out, EHU very close and bonus of water at every EHU point!
No reception on site but the informative email prior to arrival meant one was not necessary as we already knew our pitch and how to get there.
John the owner was very friendly and approachable.
Our children (7&11) loved the play area. The huge field, goal posts and places to explore kept them entertained for hours.
The location for us was perfect, just off the bridge, meaning we could explore lots of the island, and we did!
The facilities are kept exceptionally clean.
We’ll be back next time we visit Anglesey!

Local attractions

When you want to stay pretty local, make Menai Suspension Bridge (five minutes' drive) your first stop. The huge suspension bridge between Anglesey and mainland Wales is a sight to behold. Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens (10 minutes) is rather interesting too, as a historic estate with peaceful gardens and tea rooms. Beaumaris (20 minutes) next? This stop is by the seaside, hence the gorgeous promenade, and the castle is also worth a visit. Caernarfon Castle (20 minutes) has a big ‘wow’ factor too – the huge palace-style fortress sits along the river Seiont and looks very grand. In Conwy (30 minutes), there’s another castle, as well as the harbour where boat tours take off across the coast. For those of you interested in getting to know legends and history around St David, visit the island of Ynys Llanddwyn (30 minutes). The scenery is just as great at Great Orme (45 minutes), a chunk of limestone land that juts out into the sea and has been named the ‘sea monster’ by the Vikings. Time for some adrenaline instead? Zip World Fforest (40 minutes) has a forest rollercoaster and zipwires or swings over the treetops.
