  • Small site a mile and a half from Benllech village and beach
  • A 20-minute drive from Beaumaris and half an hour from Snowdonia
  • Dog-friendly site with distant mountain views
Beaches, coastal paths and plenty of space to run about – the Isle of Anglesey’s Ysgubor Fadog is pretty heavenly for dogs. If they promise to be well behaved they’re most welcome at this Brynteg site, where the facilities include a special space for them to scamper about in. And for humans? It's all pretty heavenly here too, whether holidaying with hounds or without… The local beach is a splendid sandy one (a mile and a half away in Benllech) and the park’s also within walking distance of rambles on the Anglesey Coastal Path, games of golf and days of fishing or scuba diving. There’s plenty more to fill a fair number of days around Anglesey too (think mountains, ancient mines, castles, boat trips… and more beaches, of course) and back on the mainland, where you can hit Caernarfon or the Snowdonia National Park with a half-hour drive. If you're lucky with the weather, the views of Snowdonia will follow you home so you can admire them while lighting your barbie back on site. All the bits for said barbie can be picked up at the small supermarkets in Benllech or the larger ones in Llangefni (10 minutes away by car). Not in the mood for firelighting? There’s a good handful of pubs, restaurants and cafés in Benllech too. Essentials facilities have been given full attention at the park: a smart new toilet/shower block (with spacious showers and loads of hot water) was opened in 2019, and there are also reliable electrical and free wifi connections.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: The site was great! One we will certainly be returning to. Facilities of toilets and showers were spotless and the added bonus of a coffee vending machine was ideal. It’s a small site with no tents allowed so each pitch was spaced out well with your own grass and gravel area.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: It was well laid out, the amenities were very clean and of a high spec. The owners were all very helpful and friendly, including the cat. There were bbq huts, with wood provided, which looked wonderful but we weren't there long enough to try out

Disliked: Nothing to dislike but the pitch could maybe be a little bit more level, but wasn't really much of a problem

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: This is our second stay touring at Ysbubor Fadog campsite on a hard standing, fully serviced pitch. The site itself is lovely. Really well maintained, dog friendly and fairly spacious pitches. Owners are also really friendly and helpful. The facilities are great. Spotless toilets / shower block. Vending machines (lovely coffee!), honesty box fresh eggs and ice machine. Washing machine and tumble drier also available. Green toilet fluids only (is available from reception if you don't have any). There is ample parking and the site is in a nice, peaceful location. Nearest shops / takeaway / pubs approx 4 min drive away. Lovely beaches all over the island to explore, many are dog friendly. The only downside of our stay was due to the weather, so totally out of site owners control. Lots of rain meant lots if mud and waterlogged pitches. Even though hardstanding, grass needed to be crossed to access some pitches. Owners were providing mud mats for cars / motor homes to drive over to help rectify this issue, but one motor home arriving after us got stuck and needed to be pushed out by other campers. Like I say, not the fault of the owners, but something to bear in mind when booking at certain times of the year. Also, no hairdryer in ladies shower block....remember to take one! 😊 For those looking to book a pod / geodome, these look amazing! They all appear to have hot tubs / bbqs to use, with plenty of wood to fire the hot tubs up!

Disliked: There is nothing to dislike about this site. We have stayed before, and would definitely return again.

Liked: Friendly informatice and helpful owners and staff. Wonderfully clean, dry and warm shower and toilet facilities. Logs available for a camp fire. We got stuck in very wet ground and were helped immediatrly with a tow off and then a dry solution found to make sure it didn't happen again. Site close to beaches and many other local attractions.

Disliked: Nothing

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: Hosts could not have been more friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble Lots of hot water in the immaculate toilet and shower block, with washing machine and dryer if required. About 45 min walk to one of the most fabulous beaches. Check tide times and you can walk all along to Red Wharf Bay. Amazing

Disliked: Nothing to dislike. Even the weather didn't dampen our spirits

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked: The couple running the site were extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The toilet/ shower facilities were top notch and amongst the best we have seen and we have been all over. a great coffee machine and unusually an ice maker were bonuses. And Anglesey is beautiful.

Disliked: The entrance to the site could do with a bit of work as it belies the quality of the site itself.

Local attractions

Once you've spent a bit of time on the sands at Benllech you're not done with beaches, for Anglesey has many more to take in. Red Wharf Bay and Moelfre (both 10 minutes' drive) are good places to start, and it’s certainly worth making the 35-minute drive to Newborough beach to wander through the pine forests and out to lovely Ynys Llandwyn. Beaumaris (20 minutes) has a beach too, but that’s just one of its attractions – the ancient castle, boat trips to Puffin Island and crab fishing from the pier are all popular picks in town. If you'd like to mix up a bit of history and a bit of hiking, head to Parys Mountain (25 minutes) to see the colourful scenery left by the old copper mines. Hikes aplenty can, of course, be had over the Menai Strait in Snowdonia National Park, as can adrenaline-packed days at ZipWorld adventure park or rather more laidback ones puffing along on a steam-powered Welsh Highland Railway ride from Caernarfon. All are about half an hour away by car.
