  • Smart self-contained timber pods at an Anglesey working farm site
  • Parys Mountain and Benllech beach within a 15-minute drive
  • Ensuite bathroom, kitchenette and underfloor heating for each pod
Peace is in plentiful supply at Pods Pwll Coch – this small Anglesey glamping site is part of a family-run working farm where you’ll share the grounds with the cattle, sheep and donkeys that live here full time. Your accommodation will be rather fancier than theirs, of course – the pods here are smart timber cabins with luxury touches like underfloor heating and Bluetooth speakers. They’re fully self-contained units so each one has its own ensuite bathroom and a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. Spending time outdoors, soaking up the fresh air and farm vibes, comes highly recommended here – and each pod has a patio area with seating to help that along. You can hire a barbecue as an extra if you like, or catch up with fellow guests at the shared firepit area. Whether you end up cooking outdoors or inside, you can pick up supplies at the convenience store in Amlwch (10 minutes’ drive) or bigger supermarket in Llangefni (15 minutes). As well as being a peaceful spot to chill out in, this location is also a good one for getting out and about to explore everything Anglesey has to offer – within 15 minutes’ drive you can be on the beach at Benllech or Lligwy, strolling the coast path or exploring the colourful landscapes of Parys Mountain. And in fact even getting to the far end of the island should only take you about 40 minutes, so all the island’s most popular attractions (the likes of Beaumaris Castle, Anglesey Sea Zoo and Plas Newydd) are all easily accessible.

Local attractions

Anglesey’s coastline is one of its great draws – and there are many ways to explore it, whether you set out for long hikes on the Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path (the section around Porth Wen brickworks is a local favourite) or set off for sandy beaches like Lligwy and Benllech (both 15 minutes’ drive). You may also like to head out to sea on a rib ride to Puffin Islands from Menai Bridge (half an hour) or take a visit to Anglesey Sea Zoo (35 minutes) for an insight into what swims below the surface. At opposite ends of the island, both Beaumaris Castle (half an hour) and the stunning South Stack cliffs (35 minutes) are worth visiting too. Hikers should certainly take a walk through the fabulous scenery of Parys Mountain (10 minutes) while those with more of an eye for gardens explore Plas Newydd House and Gardens or Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens (both half an hour). For families, Pili Palas Nature World (25 minutes), Tacla Taid transport museum (half an hour) and Foel Farm Park (35 minutes) may be on the menu.
