  • 10 minutes’ drive from Llanberis; Zip World Penrhyn Quarry 15 minutes
  • Pub, swimming pool and playground; walks and cycle rides from site
Set in the hilly and forested countryside of North Wales, Snowdon View Caravan Park has dazzling views – yes, you guessed it – right to mighty Mount Snowdon itself. A 10-minute drive from Llanberis in the middle of Snowdonia National Park, this neatly landscaped and peaceful park is designed to make life easy for you. The Little Tavern is open daily for a chilled drink and alfresco meal in the summer beer garden, or for dining by the cosy inglenook fireplace in cooler months, so there’s no need to worry about cooking. Other handy facilities include pristine shower blocks, mother-and-baby rooms, and coin-operated washing machines available 24/7. Of course, a holiday wouldn’t be a holiday if you have to leave the family dog behind, but they're welcome here – you can exercise your four-legged pals on the dedicated nature trail around the park. And whatever your sporty interests, there is a holiday activity to suit you and your family. Stay on site for a dip in the heated indoor swimming pool, take a fun ride on the zipwire and let younger kids run riot on the climbing frames and swings at the play area. Just a little further afield, go boating and fishing on the clear waters of Llyn Padarn lake (five minutes’ drive), or spend time exploring spectacular Snowdonia National Park. Anything else you need to know? Head for reception, where welcoming staff members can fill you in on local attractions and advise you on what to see and do.

Liked: Views and very quiet at night. Toilets always clean and rubbish cleaned up every day.

Disliked: We had to pay for extra electricity and we weren’t using that much, at the price of the site I wasn’t expecting this.

Liked: The views are absolutely incredible! Lovely staff. Nice to have a pub on site. Very clean. My kids said it had the best park ever!!

Disliked: A lovely site so I don't want to criticise but just some suggestions: We had to drive over grass to get to our hard standing pitch and it was extremely muddy (we got stuck!). As much as I love having grass around, it would be much much better to have the pitch meet the road to avoid that problem in wet weather. Our car completely churned up the grass so it looked a real mess when we left (sorry!). The swimming pool had lots of water on the ground due to lack of drainage, so trying to get dry and dressed at the edge of the pool after swimming was quite tricky!

Disliked: - On site pub/restaurant probably the only not dog friendly pub in snowdonia which wasn't advised in the literature we planned our stay with this very much in mind so was very disappointed. - pool adults only 9-10am no problem but again not shown in the literature so felt foolish turning up at 9am to be turned away and planned our days round this so again disappointed. - touring pitches mostly dominated by permanent shoddy moss covered caravans which look a real mess and gives a bad impression, iv nothing against older caravans but they looked really unloved and untidy. - spiked one way strip on way in damaged my caravan, too harsh. Apparently some of the issues are being addressed in some new leaflets but that didn’t help us, feel a bit mis sold as planned days around pub and pool

Liked: We arrived late on the arrival date due to work schedule and upon arrival we went into the tavern pub. We was immediately approached by the manager of the bar who reassured us she had our booking details. We had issues with our heating and the bar manager was very helpful and even lent us her heater for the night until we were able to get sorted with the heating in our caravan. We then ordered food from the tavern pub which was absolutely delicious and was very quick in being brought to us. Whilst eating our meal two waitress’s the bar a manger and the chef himself came over to ask us if all was okay. We thought this was really professional and also caring. They were all so nice and helpful and very welcoming on outer first night and outer first impressions. The second evening we entered the tavern we was greeted with big smiles and although a party for the owners was arranged we felt included and enjoyed the whole night. The chef is extremely talented and friendly and we believed he is wasted in such a small space, although I’m sure he would be missed if went elsewhere, The bar manger is by far a very professional and helpful person. She made us feel so welcome in such a small and small grouped community. We felt at home and we feel like we have been accepted into this family at the park and will be returning! We are even considering requesting our tourer to be placed here permanent. The facilities I.e the showers and toilets were kept to an exceptional standard of cleanliness. The only downfall is the lady who cleans them was quite abrupt with my 8 year olds son when he was using the facilities. He was a little scared of seeing her after that the whole time. I’m not entirely sure what was said but I believe she was abrupt and told him off for counting loudly when in the shower. All in all it was a great holiday and we shall we coming back

Disliked: The tavern not being open the full time we was here as we enjoy socialising and the experience my son had with the cleaning lady.

Local attractions

Join the race to get out into Snowdonia National Park: many walks and cycle rides can be accessed from the caravan park. Other ways to appreciate the spectacular landscapes include boating on Llyn Padarn lake (five minutes’ drive), or climbing aboard the Snowdon Mountain Railway (10 minutes) to chug across viaducts and valleys to the summit of Wales’ highest peak. If child-friendly days out feature on your holiday agenda, make a beeline for the Welsh Mountain Zoo (35 minutes) to see rare snow leopards or become keepers for the day, and help your offspring find their surfing feet on the waves at Adventure Parc Snowdonia (40 minutes). Up the ante by testing family nerves on the zipwires at Zip World Penrhyn Quarry (15 minutes), or have a go at trampolining in a former mine at Zip World Llechwedd (50 minutes). Add a touch of history to your Snowdonia break with a visit to the workshops and massive waterwheel at the National Slate Museum (10 minutes), or tour the museums and towers of medieval Caernarfon Castle (15 minutes).
