Local attractions

Local attractions include Criccieth Castle, a native Welsh castle, and the medieval Harlech Castle, classed by Unesco as a World Heritage Site. The campsite is located within easy driving distance to the seaside town of Barmouth, with its pictoresque harbour, and to Porthmadog and Abersoch, that are definitely worth a visit. You cannot miss the magic atmosphere of the tourist village of Portmeirion, designed in the style of an Italian village and used as the location for lots of films and television shows. Ffestiniog Railway, a narrow gauge heritage railway, is another of the several attractions located in the area, as well as the Snowdonia National Park, with its amazing landscapes.
