General

  • Excellent base for touring north Wales, on the outskirts of St Asaph
  • Level, welcoming and very clean site
  • Hot showers, firepits and weekend snack bar available

Welcome to our small, family-run campsite on the outskirts of St Asaph. Overlooked by Offa’s Dyke and the wonderful Clwydian mountain range, this peaceful 'tents only' site is an excellent base for visiting north Wales, Anglesey, Snowdonia and the seaside towns of Rhyl and Prestatyn. We are a mile off the A55 and a 15-minute drive from the beach.

From fabulous views (although we can't really take the credit); level pitches, hot showers, power points for charging phones or using a hair dryer, a communal fridge and even firepits for hire (subject to availability), we hope we have provided all you need for a peaceful and enjoyable camping trip.

We have a no music policy and encourage quiet time from 11pm; perfect for couples and young families but not if you're after a lively evening. The rest is up to you, and the weather of course which is sadly out of our control.

The site is situated on a level field with hot showers, a communal fridge, washing facilities and plenty of recreational space to run around. The nearest pub is a 20 minute walk, or a three-minute drive to St Asaph offers a great choice in pubs and restaurants.

Fast food is also available on site during weekends in low season and every evening during high season.

Corn Bwch is a lovely peaceful site sitting at the base of the hills a couple of miles outside St Asaph. The pitches are on a level well drained field. Showers are spacious, hot and clean - and they are free!. There is an under cover area with a shared fridge & washing up facilities plus table & chairs.
This is a site to come to if you love camping and want some peace & quiet in the great outdoors surrounded by working farms.
Just perfect - I will be back.

You can hear the rumble of traffic from the A55 .... but since I'd just driven along that road to get here, I probably shouldnt complain!

The owners were lovely and very helpful. The site, even over a bank holiday weekend, is never over booked.
Our bell tent was very comfortable and warm. The wooden cabin for both tents to share has spares of everything you forgot bring... even extra toys for the kids to play with.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

The area, my little boy loved the goal posts and trampoline, the lady who I spoke to was lovely and very friendly. It was almost silent at night which was great for my little boy. It was his first time camping and we both loved it. Will definitely be back.

    Disliked:

I didn't use the shower facilities so I cannot comment on those however if I'm being picky the sinks in the bathroom were too high for my little boy to brush his teeth at so it was a bit awkward to hold him up to do them.

Local attractions

The cathedral city of St Asaph is few minutes' drive away with lovely river walks, excellent restaurants and bars, free tennis courts and games areas, leisure centre and bowling green amongst other things.

The River Elwy and River Clwyd both provide excellent trout and salmon fishing (permits available from Foxons in St. Asaph) and they are a nice place to cool off on a warm sunny day.

The beaches of Rhyl, Prestatyn and Towyn are within a 15-20 minute drive and for those rainy days, we have the Rhyl Sun Centre, the Nova at Prestatyn, the Welsh Mountain Zoo at Colwyn Bay and Bodelwyddan castle to name but a few.

We have a nine-hole golf course and driving range close by, and the 18-hole courses at Rhuddlan, Abergele and Denbigh are all within a 10-minute drive. The spectacular scenery of Snowdonia National Park is within a 40-minute drive and the major cities of Chester and Liverpool are both within easy reach.

St Asaph has a good deal to offer in terms of bars and restaurants, for the younger ones and family dining, and is just a 3 minute drive in the car. Alternatively, the Farmers Arms is open at weekends and the White House is a slightly longer walk but worth the effort.

Must see

  • Rhuddlan Castle (3.6 miles)
  • Bodelwyddan Castle (4.0 miles)
  • Bodnant Garden (16.3 miles)
