  • Adults-only site at a scenic farm on the edge of Llangollen
  • Llangollen Pavilion and Castell Dinas Brân within walking distance
  • Dogs and barbecues welcome; a 10-minute walk to town centre
Looking for a good-value place to stay in Llangollen? Tower Farm Holidays is a fine pick indeed, mixing up gorgeous rural views and a peaceful atmosphere with a handy location about 10 minutes’ walk from the town centre. This adults-only site is in an excellent spot for both town and countryside – and you’ll easily be able to explore both without a car as there are so many attractions and amenities within walking/cycling distance. The canal, steam railway, Horseshoe Falls and stunning Castell Dinas Brân are all within a half-hour walk, and the town is well supplied with places to eat and drink (plus shops to pick up supplies for a picnic or a barbecue back on site). For those of you planning a visit during the town’s buzzing Eisteddfod music event, it’s worth noting that the farm is just a 10-minute walk away from the festival’s pavilion, putting you in a handy spot for getting to events without taking the car. Having a car on hand is a useful thing, however, as there’s plenty more to explore in this area beyond the town. Towns like Chirk and Ruthin are worth visiting for their historic attractions and there are some super walks in the surrounding Clwydian Range & Dee Valley National Landscape.

What customers say

This is a peaceful, well-located site with a friendly welcome, offering lovely views and spacious pitches. Guests highlight the convenient 10-15 minute walk to Llangollen via a canal path. New owners are actively developing the site, with recent upgrades including new toilet and shower facilities, electric hook-ups, and an electric gate. Some minor issues with pitch levelling and initial facility completion were noted but are being addressed by management.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Marc the owner was extremely helpful in getting us set up as we were first time campervan users. We were met on arrival with home made cake. The toilets and shower blocks were immaculate. Only 8 min walk to the town for food and drink.

Liked Great space, beautiful views.
A lot of work already by the owners to update the facilities and quite a big plan going forward.
Close to town but far away enough to be quiet

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked What a lovely site. The location is glorious, in a quiet, gently sloping (most of the pitches are level) sunny field with great view of the distant hills, and just 10 minutes walk into the lovely, bustling town of Llangollen. Warm welcome from the owner (with cake!) who said that they are improving the site and have installed two new shower/loo/sink rooms in the barn, which are spotless.

Electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Fabulous welcome. Easy to access in our 9m motorhome. The new toilets are lovely. Easy walk into town and great for access to hill walks.
It’s going to be a fantastic site as Mark and Michaela do more updates and we will definitely be going back.

Electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Great position for ranging out on walks. The pitches are modest but sufficient in size, most are slightly sloping. Every pitch enjoys a great view. There are 2 modern pods with a shower and toilet, very clean and convenient with heavenly hot water.

Disliked There is no wifi advertised but there is good 4g signal on vodafone and O2.

Electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Lovely picturesque and quiet campsite within walking distance of Llangollen, along the canal towpath with the horse drawn canal boats.
Was also able to walk to the Motor Bike Museum.
Nice and quiet site, sat watching birds, squirrels and the occasional Pheasant which wandered through the fence and into the campsite.
There was no wifi but this wasn't an issue as we used our own mobile wifi device.
The hosts were very welcoming and greeted us with lovely home made cake and a couple of Easter eggs which was an unexpected lovely surprise (and the cake was really nice, thank you). We were also provided with information regarding the campsite and the local area which was very helpful.
Would not hesitate to recommend this campsite and/or return to the campsite if visiting the area again.

Disliked Nothing, lovely campsite

Local attractions

Llangollen is a lovely place to visit at any time of year, but it really reaches its peak during the summer Eisteddfod (usually late June/early July), when the whole town comes alive with music from school groups, big-name stars and all sorts in between. Whenever you visit, there are several excellent attractions around the town that you should certainly put on your schedule. Perhaps start with a steam-powered ride on the Llangollen Railway or a traditional barge outing on the canal, before a walk to Horseshoe Falls or a climb up to hilltop Castell Dinas Brân. Plas Newydd Historic House & Gardens is another great choice, with its 40 acres of gardens and its Rex Whistler mural inside. All of the above are within walking distance, but if you’ve brought your car you may also like to head out to places like the UNESCO-listed Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (10 minutes’ drive) or the National Trust sites at Chirk Castle (20 minutes) and Erddig (25 minutes). Ruthin (half an hour) is also a good call, for the castle and Ruthin Gaol Museum.
