  • Adults-only site at a scenic farm on the edge of Llangollen
  • Llangollen Pavilion and Castell Dinas Brân within walking distance
  • Dogs and barbecues welcome; a 10-minute walk to town centre
Looking for a good-value place to stay in Llangollen? Tower Farm Holidays is a fine pick indeed, mixing up gorgeous rural views and a peaceful atmosphere with a handy location about 10 minutes’ walk from the town centre. This adults-only site is in an excellent spot for both town and countryside – and you’ll easily be able to explore both without a car as there are so many attractions and amenities within walking/cycling distance. The canal, steam railway, Horseshoe Falls and stunning Castell Dinas Brân are all within a half-hour walk, and the town is well supplied with places to eat and drink (plus shops to pick up supplies for a picnic or a barbecue back on site). For those of you planning a visit during the town’s buzzing Eisteddfod music event, it’s worth noting that the farm is just a 10-minute walk away from the festival’s pavilion, putting you in a handy spot for getting to events without taking the car. Having a car on hand is a useful thing, however, as there’s plenty more to explore in this area beyond the town. Towns like Chirk and Ruthin are worth visiting for their historic attractions and there are some super walks in the surrounding Clwydian Range & Dee Valley National Landscape.

What customers say

This is a lovely, peaceful, adult-only campsite with beautiful views, praised for its idyllic setting and proximity to Llangollen, just a 10-15 minute walk away via the canal towpath. New owners Mark and Michaela are frequently highlighted as exceptionally friendly, helpful, and welcoming, often offering delicious homemade cake upon arrival. The site boasts clean and modern shower pods and toilet facilities, with ongoing improvements and future plans for glamping. Dogs are welcome, and campfires are permitted. While some pitches may be slightly sloping, and a few visitors noted limited washroom facilities when busy, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests expressing a strong desire to return.

Liked Lovely quiet site. Just a 10 minute walk into the town along the canal towpath. Great shower pods with toilet and sink..

Disliked Just needs a couple of extra toilets but that wasn't a problem while we were there. But I expect it could be when the site is very busy.

Electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked A truly wonderful, peaceful place to stay. It’s in the most idyllic setting and it’s just 10 minutes walk to town. The canal is just 5 minutes away which offers lovely walks to the horseshoe waterfalls and a longer walk to the aqueduct. The new owners (Mark & Michaela) are just wonderful. So kind and helpful. They cannot do enough for you and greet you with delicious homemade cake. They are working hard to create a fantastic vision and there’s a variety of accommodation options (touring pitches, beautiful shepherds huts, cottages and it looks like luxury glamping will soon be coming). It’s adult only and dog friendly. We will definitely return. This ranks as one of our favourite sites.

Electric grass and gravel touring pitch

Liked Nice and very clean site with very friendly and helpful owners. Site was perfect to walk to town and along the canal and beautiful setting.

Disliked If you need an awning with your van it’s useful to check if there is a suitable pitch. Also the toilets were great being all in one like a bathroom but with only two if you don’t have your own toilet it isn’t ideal. No wifi. I think the site is more suited to mobile homes rather than camper vans.

Liked Lovely views, gorgeous apple cake on arrival (was a welcome surprise), location just a stroll into town. Quiet site with starry skies

Disliked Main 2 toilets were also showers which were nice clean and modern but when people were showering for a while it meant toilets were unavailable -extra individual toilet block would be goid

Electric gravel and hardstanding motorhome pitch

Liked Mark, the owner was very friendly on arrival and presented us with delicious cakes that his wife had made.
The campsite had level pitches, Georgeous views of the hills and valley.
It was in a great location with lots of beautiful walks around. Very easy access to the canal paths for bike riding.
The town of Llangollen is lovely.
We swam in the River Dee, at horseshoe falls and under the famous aqueduct.
The toilet and showers were good. It was handy having the ground drain to take our camper over to empty out grey waste water.
We liked that campfires were allowed.
I would camp here again, a beautiful setting.
Thank you Mark @ Tower Farm!

Disliked There was nothing we disliked.

Local attractions

Llangollen is a lovely place to visit at any time of year, but it really reaches its peak during the summer Eisteddfod (usually late June/early July), when the whole town comes alive with music from school groups, big-name stars and all sorts in between. Whenever you visit, there are several excellent attractions around the town that you should certainly put on your schedule. Perhaps start with a steam-powered ride on the Llangollen Railway or a traditional barge outing on the canal, before a walk to Horseshoe Falls or a climb up to hilltop Castell Dinas Brân. Plas Newydd Historic House & Gardens is another great choice, with its 40 acres of gardens and its Rex Whistler mural inside. All of the above are within walking distance, but if you’ve brought your car you may also like to head out to places like the UNESCO-listed Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (10 minutes’ drive) or the National Trust sites at Chirk Castle (20 minutes) and Erddig (25 minutes). Ruthin (half an hour) is also a good call, for the castle and Ruthin Gaol Museum.
