  • Well-maintained site just off the A5 in rural Denbighshire
  • A 10-minute drive from Corwen or the edge of Snowdonia National Park
  • Half a mile from a café with hillside views
On the edge of Snowdonia National Park, Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping is a homely North Wales site with stunning views over the Denbighshire countryside. This is a simple spot with a well-maintained toilet and shower block and generously-sized natural grass pitches. The outlook here is simply spectacular, with gorgeous views overlooking Foel Goch and the Berwyn Mountains. Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping is located in a quiet location just off the speedy A5 road, meaning you're a mere 10 minutes' drive from the edge of Snowdonia National Park and all the amenities of Corwen town centre. For food, you're two miles down the road from a shop selling local produce and half a mile from a café that serves top-rated hot and cold food. Traditional camp dinners are also in the offing, as Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping allows guests to set up barbecues in its grounds. Outdoor leisure activities are available in the local area, including go-karting at Glan Y Gors (five minutes) and watersports on the river Tryweryn at the National White Water Centre (15 minutes). The site also has direct access to the attractive Hiraethog Trail.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Last minute booking online really helped to make sure that we didn’t turn up and it was a fully booked campsite, also was great that we could pay online instead of getting cash out.

The campsite was in a great location, really friendly and lovely owners. Was perfect for us as a last minute stop off before travelling some more around beautiful Wales.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely campsite, hot shower, amazing views . Nice and quiet. Dylan what can I say what a guy top bloke, he took me to the local garage for a few essentials and brought me back, he wouldn't accept anything for this at all. Also my essentials were warm so Dylan got me a bucket of cold water to cool my essentials in. He went round in his vehicle and made sure everyone else was okay ( other campers) I learnt alot about the land he farms and the sheep amazingly enough stay on his hill with no fence !!! , will defo stay again

Disliked Nothing all good

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Absolutely stunning campsite we booked this after arriving at the one we had booked and it being horrible, check in nice and simple pitch up anywhere and there was a lot of space to choose from, facilities were perfect for our needs toilets shower washing up area and fire pits to hire and wood if needed. Views were spectacular and watching the red kites across the field was amazing. Dylan and Yvonne were really friendly and helpful and recommend The Goat pub just down the road for food and it was lovely 😊 will definitely be staying again.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked 1. Upon arrival and during the stay, the owners were welcoming, friendly, smiley and willing to help (when wanting to move the tent because of strong winds, we were assisted by one of the owners without us asking!).
2. The A5 was quiet during night time and we weren't disturbed during our sleep.
3. Toilets were clean and well stocked.
4. Showers were able to give out warm water despite being used constantly during peak times (morning).
5. Enough bins to place your rubbish in.
6. Convenient location for Bala / Betws-y-Coed if you want to eat out.
7. Ample facilities for washing up dirty dishes etc.

Disliked 1. The only thing we weren't particular fans of was the state that the showers appeared after being used by others. Wearing flip flops/crocs was a good enough alternative to get around this.
2. We had Data at the site, so the site not having WiFi was not an issue for us ... would it be an issue for other people? Maybe.

From the manager: Thank you for your review very much appreciated.
I would like to clarify the problem you had with showers good point as it is so frustrating there is plenty of mats to wipe your feet and I have noticed a lot of people just walk straight in, we do leave cleaning spray and cloth to use, if I'm honest I wouldn't say they were dirty at all I have seen worst . I do try my very best to keep on top of shower but it would be nice if people would rinse after use. (Find them as you keep them)

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Nice site on the A5 with beautiful scenery all around and access to a public footpath across the road leading to a scenic trail. The owners were very friendly, chatty and helpful. The facilities were good and kept clean at all times. When busy could do with some more toilets, but not really a problem. Will definitely be back again to take in more of the local scenery with my dog, Bailey!

Local attractions

Here for a calm country break? Look out over heather-covered moorlands, peaceful woodlands and quiet lakes on the Hiraethog Trail, a scenic traffic-free walking route a few minutes' walk from site. Alternatively, take your angling gear down the road to try the waters at the Dragonfly Tea Rooms and Fishery, or head to Llyn Brenig (15 minutes), widely held to be one of the best trout fisheries in this part of the country. It's not all peace and quiet in this part of North Wales, though – you could also live life in the fast lane and go for a spin at Glan Y Gors go-karting (five minutes' drive) or hop from tree to tree at Zip World Fforest (20 minutes). Down the road, the National White Water Centre (15 minutes) has opportunities for high-adrenaline rafting on the river Tryweryn to try out too. For more days out, visit the lakeside town of Bala (20 minutes) and take a steam railway ride, head to Conwy's impressive castle (45 minutes) and go for walks by the beach, or head into the national park and explore Betws-y-Coed (20 minutes), a local shopping hub with bike hire, outdoor outlets and lots of good food options.
