Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping: Denbighshire holidays

General

  • Well-maintained site just off the A5 in rural Denbighshire
  • A 10-minute drive from Corwen or the edge of Snowdonia National Park
  • Half a mile from a café with hillside views; free on-site fishing

On the edge of Snowdonia National Park, Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping is a homely North Wales site with stunning views over the Denbighshire countryside.

This is a simple spot with a well-maintained toilet and shower block and generously-sized natural grass pitches. The outlook here is simply spectacular, with gorgeous views overlooking Foel Goch and the Berwyn Mountains. Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping is located in a quiet location just off the speedy A5 road, meaning you're a mere 10 minutes' drive from the edge of Snowdonia National Park and all the amenities of Corwen town centre.

For food, you're two miles down the road from a shop selling local produce and half a mile from a café that serves top-rated hot and cold food. Traditional camp dinners are also in the offing, as Ty Cerrig Caravan and Camping allows guests to set up barbecues in its grounds.

Feel free to bring your fishing equipment to this rural spot for some free on-site angling. Lots of other outdoor leisure activities are available in the local area too, including go-karting at Glan Y Gors (five minutes) and watersports on the river Tryweryn at the National White Water Centre (15 minutes). The site also has direct access to the attractive Hiraethog Trail.

Please note

Bookings must not consist of more than 2 different households.

This is a quiet campground/park: no music is allowed.

Proper camping site, as it should be! Owned by friendly farmers, who keep the facilitates immaculate and genuinely care about your stay. We were offered advice about where to visit and even a lift back if we were too tired. The owners couldn't do enough for us. Definitely recommend and will be back soon.

The site is right next to a road and it’s very noisy, the site is also on a slight hill. There were also noisy campers drinking until 2am. Only 1 female shower - very basic facilities.

From the manager...

Thank you for your review, about your concerns it states we are next to road which haven’t really been of concern before, if you would of read campsite information board it Clearly says in point number 1 if you have any concerns or problem to contact us 24 hrs, when we did our last check at 11.30 it was all quiet, I was made aware that 3 people were still up drinking till 2am (they were not complaining) which I can’t really see why that should be pointed on us personally! It didn’t seem to be of concern to other guests as I asked them. All site information is on pitch up, as regards to only 1 shower we do have 2 toilet and 2 showers in ladies and same in gentlemen.

Local attractions

Here for a calm country break? Look out over heather-covered moorlands, peaceful woodlands and quiet lakes on the Hiraethog Trail, a scenic traffic-free walking route a few minutes' walk from site. Alternatively, take your angling gear down the road to try the waters at the Dragonfly Tea Rooms and Fishery, or head to Llyn Brenig (15 minutes), widely held to be one of the best trout fisheries in this part of the country.

It's not all peace and quiet in this part of North Wales, though – you could also live life in the fast lane and go for a spin at Glan Y Gors go-karting (five minutes' drive) or hop from tree to tree at Zip World Fforest (20 minutes). Down the road, the National White Water Centre (15 minutes) has opportunities for high-adrenaline rafting on the river Tryweryn to try out too.

For more days out, visit the lakeside town of Bala (20 minutes) and take a steam railway ride, head to Conwy's impressive castle (45 minutes) and go for walks by the beach, or head into the national park and explore Betws-y-Coed (20 minutes), a local shopping hub with bike hire, outdoor outlets and lots of good food options.
