What customers say

This campsite offers beautiful, peaceful surroundings with lovely views of hills and sea. Visitors praise the quiet atmosphere and friendly owners. Facilities include clean, basic portaloos. While the site is described as a simple field with a toilet, it's considered good value. Some guests noted the fields are on a slope and the presence of sheep may be an issue for those with dogs.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great place for camping, nice views. It would be perfect if there was water and hygiene facilities.

Disliked 2 portable toilets not enough for more than 5 tents at a time.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked The location is fantastic, surrounded by mountains and a sea view from just over the hills. Hiking trails are just minutes of a walk away, the sea is a 5 minute drive (if that) and Conwy is 10 minutes! Then just a little further out is a whole range of sights and things to do!
The site is located on a slope so depending where you set up camp it can be a small hike to the loo’s but that’s all part of the fun! The toilets are 2 portaloos which are well maintained and clean.
The campsite is basic, relatively quiet and really friendly; a true little trip back to basics! For kids (and big kids) there’s a tyre swing at the bottom of the field under the big tree and plenty of space for ball games and running about ect. It’s a Dog friendly site which is great if you want to take your pup away with you.
For us it was our first trip with the dog and was a bonding experience for sure, She’s now absolutely knackered and will probably have a couple of lazy days to recover!

Disliked There is honestly nothing to dislike with this campsite. Everything that is explained in the listing page is exactly as is!

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Beautiful area to camp, the campsite is what I expected from the photos a very special place with lots of history, just perfect a beautiful large oak sits in the middle and it's such an energised special area, the portaloos where outstanding, toilet paper all weekend, soap and a first for us on campsites even a light in the loo, everyone respected each other on the site which was lovely, very peaceful and just perfect for everything within the area, we walked a huge mountain and what a view it was amazing, we didn't get to explore everything we wanted you could definitely have a longer stay here with so much in the area.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Beautiful setting, spectacular view. Friendly helpful owners when needed, we missed the turning and they were so kind and helpful helping us find our way. Simple set up was just what we needed as a base for exploring.

Disliked Portaloos were clean and functional. Pleasant enough compared to past experiences but soap and hand towels did run out over the course of our two night stay. Not a huge issue as we'd planned for a limited amenities site but did feel that it could have done with a little extra restocking considering it was peak of summer and a decent number of campers on site.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Not a lot to be honest. Field was on a hill so it made it very difficult to find a pitch level where we didn’t end up at the bottom of our tent in the middle of the night. However, the two port-a-loos were very clean with some very nice smelling soap in them and ample amounts of toilet roll

Our second night, we were the only two in the bottom field which was actually lively as we played music and did what we wanted, very nice.

The view of the hills were stunning too!! I think we picked the best week away to travel Great Britain!!!

Disliked The Fairy Glen 3 mins down the road was crap!!! If you like crap customer service, Bookers food marked up by 80% and extortionate prices then this is the place to be. You’d be far off better walking 20 mins down the road to the Gladstone.

Unfortunately, we won’t be returning!
