  • Busy family park within easy reach of Colwyn Bay and Rhyl
  • Close to the beach at Abergele
  • Pool, playground, bar, restaurant and takeaway
Thrills in Rhyl or getting out to play in Colwyn Bay: both are in easy reach of Ty Mawr Holiday Park on the north Wales coast – along with gorgeous beaches, market towns, charismatic castles, and the inspiring scenery of the Welsh mountains. This buzzing, family-oriented park is great for kids: they’ll spend hours whizzing down the flume into the indoor pool and running around the large outdoor playground, and can join Sparky the rabbit and his Krew in the free kids’ clubs for all ages. There are also plenty of organised sports activities on offer. In the evenings, the whole family can enjoy a knees-up at the all-singing, all-dancing entertainment bar, where live bands and cabaret make a regular appearance, as well as fun theme nights and competitions. The various food options on site include plenty of takeaway choices at the Rendezvous diner and the Boathouse bar and restaurant. Modern amenities include toilets, showers and heated changing areas.

What customers say

This campsite offers a lively atmosphere with plenty of activities for children, including a swimming pool and entertainment. Staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful. However, many visitors report issues with waterlogged touring pitches, particularly after rain. Some facilities, such as shower blocks and toilets, are noted as being dated or in need of maintenance, with occasional cleanliness concerns. Noise from nearby roads and other campers can also be an issue for some.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch (large)

Liked Been before and renting a static caravan but this is the first time of taking the campervan. Toilets lovely and clean, beautiful spot, quiet, swim pool was lovely and warm, lots on site and staff nice. Flat pitches with lots of space.

Disliked Made the mistake of going for one night on a bank holiday. We were there too late for most the swimming and swim meant we missed the kids show and then was too late to enjoy any swimming the next morning. Ended up a very expensive for what it was. Would go again but on a cheaper weekend for more than one day so we can get moneys worth

Warren electric grass touring pitch

Liked Pitches were nice, clean and spacious and close to all amenities.
Site had everything you needed plus all staff from the cleaners to reception, bar staff and entertainment team were super friendly and helpful.
The pool was one of the nicest park dean pools we have ever been to.
Overall it’s a lovely site and we will definitely be returning, hopefully when the weather is a bit better.

Disliked Showers a little dated but as all park dean sites.

Meadows electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Good location, 5 minute drive to the beach. Nice open field, womens showers were OK.

Disliked Toilets could have been cleaner. Children activities were expensive and did not seem worth the money because the areas were very small and activities seemed unorganised. Mens showers were either freezing cold or burning hot.

I wouldn't stay here again as there are better sites around.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked The location is great to travel to other areas. Easy access to the park from the main road. Close to all amenities including supermarkets, pharmacy and restaurants. Pitches were clean and tidy when we arrived and staff around to help. Checking in was quick and easy.

Disliked No respect from other campers, loud music, smoking drugs, unruly children, dogs off leads peeing up people's tents. Showers always seemed to be blocked in the ladies Meadow Field. Booking swimming was impossible. WiFi was not working 95% of the time and shouldn't offer it as a "perk". I didn't use any other facilities on site.

Meadows electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Useful location, only to leave to go to other places nearby that are less grimy.

Disliked Unsupervised climbing under toilets and invading privacy with camera phones, litter everywhere, noise until late, dirty facilities and constant hard drug use. Bins collected at 5:55am in camping area. 4 year old scared and wanted to leave after one night. Absolutely horrible. Camping field flooded after one downpour and the ground is completely uneven and full of holes.

Disliked Toilet and shower are terrible. Hygiene is bad. Only 3 sinks for lot of tent users is not enough. Too noisy as it is just beside the road.

Liked Entertainment was okay

Disliked The toilet block on the camping field was ridiculous I have a disabled daughter and there was only one toilet which was full all the time the other toilets had no soap and were in desperate need of updating. There were also people screaming and shouting all night fighting which is really upsetting for my daughter
