Pitches

  • Busy family park within easy reach of Colwyn Bay and Rhyl
  • Close to the beach at Abergele
  • Pool, playground, bar, restaurant and takeaway
Thrills in Rhyl or getting out to play in Colwyn Bay: both are in easy reach of Ty Mawr Holiday Park on the north Wales coast – along with gorgeous beaches, market towns, charismatic castles, and the inspiring scenery of the Welsh mountains. This buzzing, family-oriented park is great for kids: they’ll spend hours whizzing down the flume into the indoor pool and running around the large outdoor playground, and can join Sparky the rabbit and his Krew in the free kids’ clubs for all ages. There are also plenty of organised sports activities on offer. In the evenings, the whole family can enjoy a knees-up at the all-singing, all-dancing entertainment bar, where live bands and cabaret make a regular appearance, as well as fun theme nights and competitions. The various food options on site include plenty of takeaway choices at the Rendezvous diner and the Boathouse bar and restaurant. Modern amenities include toilets, showers and heated changing areas.

What customers say

This is a popular, family-friendly site with many activities for children. Visitors praise the clean facilities, friendly staff, and convenient location near the beach. However, some found it busy and noisy, with expensive food and activities. Pitches and some facilities could be improved, particularly for tourers. Despite some drawbacks, many would recommend and return.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked Location was good.

Disliked Toilet block, shower block, waste disposal all need attention. Security staff were rude, obnoxious and bullying. I’ve never been on a campsite where the staff wanted to make it as awkward as possible for people to enjoy themselves.

Liked It was in a good position for what we wanted to do in the area.

Disliked We didn’t use any of the facilities, we were booked in for swimming but that got cancelled because of water contamination. Security on site wasn’t useful or helpful. They were inconsistent in their rules from management down to foot patrol, in that it seemed one rule for one and another for someone else. The toilet facilities were not very clean, there was no soap in the ladies for 2 days. The elsan waste was disgusting.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch

Liked A great place for a trip with children, lots of attractions, but if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is definitely the place for you.

Disliked Proper cleaning of toilets and showers is not ensured, there was no soap in the women's bathroom for over 2 days, I understand that this is a very frequently used place, but from experience I know that toilets should be cleaned more than once a day.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch (large)

Liked Size of pitch

Disliked Big site, very busy. Noisy in late evening with many children running around. Allocated pitch was a 10 min walk to central hub and activities. A nest of rats was close by. Toilet/shower block/elsan point were too far away. Radar key needed for disabled facilities. Many activities was an extra charge. Some staff were less than helpful.

Meadows electric grass touring pitch (large)

Liked The amount of activities available for the kids to do. The pitches were a good size and the site was very clean. Lots of facilities and the shop was very well stocked. My little boy loved the donut hut. The park was a good size and close enough to the rest of the park. All the staff were really friendly and took the time to get to know the kids. The park is close to the beach and plenty of amenities, theres a good fairground park close by too. Swimming was free and pool always very clean Just got busy at peak times. Dog friendly, allowed in all areas, good dog park fenced in, cleaned regularly.

Disliked We were there a week and it got quite pricey doing the different activities. There was a lot the 4yr old couldn't do, a wider variety for older children. Tourer pitch was on the road side, was busy and noisey at times.
