What customers say
This campsite offers spacious, private pitches with stunning views, often situated by a beautiful river with convenient access. Visitors praise the friendly, welcoming hosts and the clean facilities, including unique shower setups. While the location is excellent for exploring Hay-on-Wye and enjoying nature, some guests noted that facilities can be a walk from pitches, particularly those by the river. There are occasional comments about noise from local events and a suggestion for clearer communication regarding facilities like rubbish disposal. Aggressive resident dogs have also been mentioned as a concern.

Would come again- a good site with clean facilities on the whole.
Bow Top gypsy caravan
Liked Mainly helpful staff
Beautiful views and sunrises and sets
Bow top caravan a novelty
Kingfishers , Dippers and other beautiful birds down by the river.
Nearby countryside eg. Arthur’s Stone.
Disliked Too many dogs off leads (not the campsite’s fault)- we didn’t want to say hello
Proximity of other pitches with no hedge
Children being noisy late at night (not the campsite’s fault)
Long walks to toilets (maybe more paths through long grass could be made, eg by shepherds hut )
Initial impression seemed scruffy (though this improved once we had settled in)

Lovely peaceful stay by the river
Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Quiet and peaceful by the river, campsite was spaced out really well to give everyone privacy. Owners were super lovely, helped me out when I forgot my tent pegs! Shower was hot and the main toilets next to them were well maintained.
Disliked Difficult to get to on foot from Hay-on-Wye, and the river pitches especially have a long walk to access water, showers/main toilets, or the washing up sink. There's also no ability to throw away rubbish at the site, you have to take it with you.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked Excellent location of our pitch in shade right next to the river for dips and dog paddles.
Cute loo and showers in horse boxes.
Friendly owner.
Remote enough from Hay to feel in the wild however near enough for a long walk in to Hay. We will be returning.
