  • Peaceful site in a hay meadow on a 200-acre organic working farm
  • A 15-minute drive from Rhayader market town in the upper Wye valley
  • On Sustrans Cycle Route 8 and with excellent access to walking paths
Nannerth Fawr Farm is in the upper Wye valley, 15 minutes’ drive north west of Rhayader market town. In the middle of Welsh ‘kite country’, it also borders the Elan valley and is circled by the hills and moors of the Cambrian Mountains. Come here to amble through countryside the owners quite rightly describe as “astonishingly” gorgeous. The surrounds are dotted with traditional family farms, hidden valleys and wild moorland, with paths and bridleways criss-crossing the old hills and woodlands for explores on foot, horse or bike. One such trail includes the Sustrans cycle route 8, which goes through the farm; pedal here and onto other paths before heading back to base and stretching your legs a touch more with wanders over to see the friendly animals or the River Wye for a paddle. As for adventures around Wales, this park puts you in a prime position in the centre of the country. The seaside university town of Aberystwyth is an hour to the west; Hereford and the marches an hour and 20 minutes to the east; the beginning of Snowdonia National Park lies just over an hour north, and the Brecon Beacons less than an hour south.
