  • Exclusive dog-friendly bell tent on a private site in rural Powys
  • A short walk away from the Glyndwr’s Way and a local footpath
  • Alpaca herd on site; outdoor kitchen facilities and barbecue provided
You won’t have to worry about any nosy neighbours at Maesnewydd… unless you’re counting the friendly alpaca herd, you’ll have this dog-friendly site all to yourself. Pabellu is the name of the adults-only exclusive bell tent on site and it comes with rather splendid views over the herd and the Powys countryside, with Meifod village 25 minutes’ walk away. With all the space to yourself and a table and chairs in front of the scenery, you’ll surely want to rustle up a good barbecue. Handily, a barbecue and associated utensils, as well as a hamper containing cutlery and crockery, are provided by the side. And you may want to get pretty handy at prepping your food, as there’s an outdoor kitchen with a stove, kettle and dishwashing bowl. There’s a double bed and storage inside the tent and elsewhere, the old stable block has a mains water supply and facilities where you can freshen up, including toilets (but no shower). Here, there’s a charging point and a fridge too, so you can store your leftovers. Perhaps you’ll want to sling those food bits into a rucksack, as the energy may come in handy, since the river Vyrnwy runs down the valley, meaning there are plenty of walks along the river and up in the nearby hills. The site is also a short walk away from a local footpath and the 135-mile Glyndwr’s Way – so perhaps fuel up some more in Meifod, where there’s a pub serving good ales and food.
