  • Quiet wildlife haven by the River Ithon
  • Peaceful and sheltered setting with free fishing on site
  • Licensed bar with Welsh beers, malt whiskies and more
Now this is a site that's fully in tune with its surroundings... peaceful and sheltered Disserth Caravan and Camping Park is in a wildlife haven on the banks of the River Ithon, where red kites and buzzards hover overhead and where you might catch a glimpse of the resident otter or kingfisher. Grayling trout fishing is available on site too and is free for guests; just remember to bring your rod licence. Junior explorers enjoy seeing what they can uncover in the depths with a net here as well; no licence required. (If angling's your thing, this is the area for it: the River Ithon is a tributary of the mighty River Wye, one of the best spots in the country for fishing and visited by anglers the world over to land salmon and trout from its waters.) Disserth Caravan and Camping Park is also quite in tune with what guests might fancy on hol, as it has a licensed bar with a good selection of Welsh beers and malt whiskies, as well as soft drinks, tea and coffee. Its well-kept amenities are in a modern log cabin with individual rooms, all with a toilet and washbasin and most also with a shower. Laundry and dishwashing facilities are also on site.

What customers say

This is a beautiful, quiet and well-maintained site by a river, with many guests praising its peaceful atmosphere and clean facilities. The owners are frequently described as friendly and helpful. Popular features include spacious pitches, excellent shower rooms, and proximity to local attractions like the Elan Valley. A minor point raised is the occasional dated feel of some facilities, though cleanliness is consistently highlighted.

Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Peaceful site in a beautiful area next to the river. The pitches were large and level making setting up straightforward. Access to the site easy from Llandrindod Wells.
The site owners are friendly and work hard to keep the facilities clean - the toilets and showers were spotless and also maintaining the site which is very well kept.
It was lovely to just listen to the birdsong and the river and spot the wildlife.
Close to several towns and the Elan Valley which is stunning. We will definitely be back!

Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked A really lovely, quiet campsite. We woke to birdsong and the relaxing sound of the babbling river Wye.
We had a warm welcome, all the facilities were pointed out and personally directed to our pitch (which we had a choice).
Very clean and tidy camp site & facilities. A quirky little bar & lounge. Just one nights stay but would love to return for a walking weekend with my husband as there are so many walks and footpaths nearby.

Shepherd's hut

Liked There was loads to like: firstly we have received very informative email with all important information. On our arrival we were warm welcomed, given a short description on the site facilities and then given a key to Shepherd's Hut, which to our positive surprise had a freedge, microwave, kettle and also a private bathroom. The site is real treasure for bird watching and listening. Very good location just 3 miles away from pretty small town of Llandrindod Wells. The area is with quite low light pollution so we could see stars at night. We really liked that the campsite was quiet site, there was no parties, big bonfires or noise. We would certainly be back!
