Great location
Electric grass pitch
Liked Great location, Aberystwyth a 20min drive and Devils bridge 15mins. Friendly owners, really helpful, was abit of a mix up with the bookings but was sorted right away. Site is lovely and well maintained, felt like the grass pitches were a little close together but fortunately it wasnt too busy. Facilities are spotlessly clean, although there is only 2 showers and 2 loos again it wasnt too busy so wasnt too much of an issue. Theres a river that runs right by, with access from the site, not deep enough for a swim but a nice quiet place to soak feet after a long day. Would recommend and stay again

From the manager: Thank you for the review.
I would just like to correct you on the number of toilets - there are actually 3 toilets, and 2 urinals for the men.
Pitches are well spaced, and there is plenty of room, its a matter of how you arrange yourself on your pitch, or how your neighbour arranges themselves as to spacing. The pitches are wide enough, with the option of coming out towards the middle of the site too, you do not need to crowd and huddle together.
The river offers a deep pool under the bridge for swimming, however, the river is very low at the moment as there has been no rain for several weeks.
We would love to see you again.

Nice site, rude owner
Electric grass pitch
Liked Fantastic location with bus stop locally and great river which is lovely for skimming stones etc
Disliked The owner. On arrival I phoned the owner who questioned if we had a booking, making it a worrying moment, she then said that she would come to camp to greet us, which she never did.
We had a BBQ one night and she came over and was very rude telling us it wasn't allowed (we had just come from Tenby where BBQs were allowed). I apologised and said I would immediately extinguish, she then proceeded how I would dispose of it (I explained), I then advised we were not aware of no BBQs and there were no signs and she replied rudely 'its common sense' and then made a big show of bringing a bucket etc for me to clear the BBQ away as she 'has seen BBQs go up again even after being extinguished'. I had put 2 litres of water on the BBQ, I have no idea how that would spontaneously combust.
I was polite at all times, and she was extremely rude, upsetting my two children. A shame as the site is nice

From the manager: I apologise for not greeting you on arrival. I asked you if you had a booking as I do with all campers who arrive, it is our practice, as we get many bookings and our pitches are allocated, (we mostly only allow bookings not 'walk-ins' as we may not always accept walk-ins). If I am not at home at the time you arrive, I would not be able to know if you had a booking or not. We are old school here and we are behind technology.
However, I did come out to see you to welcome you at my first opportunity, and noticed you had a fire.
My apologies if you were offended or embarrassed, it was not intended and I certainly did not intend to be rude - I was alarmed to see a fire (smoke) on site, with all the wild fires currently devastating our countryside, a fire here is the last thing we want, being surrounded by forest - you had your BBQ close to vegetation/hedging, which is not sensible, considering the current dry conditions and it only takes a spark. You are right, there was not a notice, and we cannot be compared to other campsites and what they do. No one else had a problem understanding the situation to not have a fire, as innocent as a BBQ may seem.
I brought you a metal bucket to put your ashes into as a 'Fire Safety' precaution and a bucket of water and explained about fires re igniting/combusting after you think they have been extinguished. We have had incidents of thoughtless disposal of cinders and embers placed in our hedges and our bins in the past, so forgive me if you felt I was making a 'Big Show'.......
