Sun of a pitch with wondeful views over the valley beyond
Fire bowls at all pitches

  • Secluded stays on a scenic organic farm overlooking the Teifi valley
  • A 20-minute drive from New Quay, Aberaeron; half an hour from Cardigan
  • Farm shop and games barn on site; great spot for stargazing
If you're in the market for a rural retreat not too far from beaches, you've come to the right place. Scenic Nantgwynfaen Organic Farm is in a particularly special spot, with oh-so-pretty views over the Teifi river valley. And on top of that, it's just a 25-minute drive from Cardigan Bay, known for its sandy beaches, bottlenose dolphins and coastal path, and 15 minutes from Newcastle Emlyn, a pretty market town by the river Teifi. As the name suggests, this site is on a working organic farm, meaning that it has plenty of space, secluded pitches and – most importantly – the quiet of the countryside. It’s easy to sit back and enjoy that quiet too, with a firepit equipped with a grill provided for every pitch for barbecues and night-sky stargazing. Being on an organic farm has other benefits too: the on-site farm shop is stocked with plenty of treats to cook on the fire, and fresh bread can be made to order at the 180-year-old Welsh farmhouse. A small freezer is on hand for freezing ice blocks, as is a fridge (in the games barn) for storing any leftovers. This farm’s barn has been retrofitted as a games room, with table tennis, pool and darts. Get days off to a good start with a lengthy ramble through the organic fields or along the coastal paths 20 minutes' drive away. (Take your dog along, as well-behaved dogs are welcome on site.) Sustainable and green, the site uses only renewable energy (including from their own solar panels) and eco-friendly cleaning products. Every pitch is spaced out for privacy.

ConTENTed non-electric grass tent pitch (two person)

Liked What an absolute find! Tucked away in nature what's better than that. I stayed on conTENTed, so chilled with a firepit. Plenty of tracks to explore and loads of wildlife to lookout for. Honestly can't wait to stay again.

Sun of a Pitch non-electric grass tent pitch (four person, private bathroom amenities)

Liked We’ve just returned from a 2-night stay at Organic Farm Camping and it was absolutely perfect. Our pitch felt really private, which made it even more relaxing, and having our own outdoor shower and private toilet was a fantastic bonus.

The fire pits were a great touch too especially nice that they were provided without any extra charge and wood can be bought onsite.

One of the highlights for us was the games room; it was perfect for a rainy evening and we really enjoyed a friendly game of darts.

The farm shop is brilliant incase you have forgotten anythin and we loved the eco-friendly ethos throughout the site.

Plenty of parking

Pitch Perfect non-electric grass and gravel pitch

Liked Lovely set up surrounded by wildlife. The facilities were great and in the evening we were treated to a visual display from the resident barn swallows. As the light faded the lack of light pollution allowed a great view of the night sky.

Disliked Nothing to dislike however not a place gor people who want electric everything. It suited us !

Pitch Perfect non-electric grass and gravel pitch

Liked Very private and spacious pitch in a stunning setting. The toilet and shower were spotless and the cleaning products/handwash were eco-friendly. The games room is brilliant and the whole place had a lovely feel to it.

Disliked Not many options for dog walking from the site.

From the manager: Thank you very much for your lovely review. It was a bit hot for walking when you were here, but just so you are aware for next time there are lots of lovely walks around the 60 acre farm, and dogs are allowed to run off the lead in fields without livestock. If you wanted to go further afield it is a half hour stroll down a country lane to the dog friendly gastro pub nearby. Hope to see you again soon. With best wishes, Amanda and Ken

Local attractions

Make tracks immediately for the pretty Welsh coast, about 20 minutes’ drive from base. There are a wealth of spectacular beaches to choose from hereabouts, starting with the sheltered stretch at Llangrannog (20 minutes) and moving on to the hidden Mwnt beach cove and its white hillside chapel. Head north along the coast to get to the seaside town of New Quay (20 minutes) for more scenic sands, as well as sea safaris, watersports and the lovely Honey Farm – where guests can visit the meadery, see the bees at work, and sample the wares in the tearoom. Closer to base, get cosy with history at the National Wool Museum (10 minutes), then get to further grips with Wales’ past on visits to the 19th-century National Trust pile Llanerchaeron (25 minutes), the famed Dolaucothi gold mines (40 minutes) and Castell Henllys Iron Age village (also 40 minutes). For days when urban explores more suit, the site is about half an hour from Cardigan itself, where guests can shop at weekly markets, putt around the golf courses, and take a jaunt across the mouth of the Teifi to the pretty St Dogmaels and Poppit Sands, before raising a glass to successful hols at either of the two gin distilleries within 20 minutes of base.
