  • Family-friendly campsite with direct access to a Cardigan Bay beach
  • Llanerchaeron 20 minutes’ drive and National Wool Museum 45 minutes
  • Play ground and sea fishing; Llanrhystud shops five minutes’ drive
When a campsite’s been open since 1928, you know it’s got a lot going for it. And that’s certainly the case at Morfa Farm Holiday Park, five minutes’ drive from the village of Llanrhystud in Ceredigion. For starters, the pitches sit directly on the foreshore in Cardigan Bay, with ‘walk-on’ access to the gentle sloping beach. Secondly, it’s a welcoming, friendly and family-run place, which always keeps guests coming back. Thirdly, it’s got a whole bunch of modern amenities to make your holidays as easy as the sea breeze. Those amenities include a pristine shower block that also incorporates a laundry and dish-washing room plus a couple of snack machines to keep hunger pangs at bay. There’s a service station with chemical and grey waste disposal and a water tap, and two EV charging points for electric cars. Calor gas bottles can be supplied on site, and a well-stocked garage and local stores in Llanrhystud to keep you topped up with supplies. If you need anything else, please just ask in reception for help. There’s plenty to do on site, with a small playpark for the kids. Families can also go rock pooling and barbecuing on the beach at low tide, and fishing on the River Wyre, which forms a natural boundary with the holiday park.

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (sea view)

Liked: Greeting from park was lovely. Pleasant and welcoming. Loved the quietness of the park plus closeness to beach. Perfect for walks on beach with 2 very happy dogs. Toilet and showers were excellent and clean.

Disliked: It hard to write this as it was nice park but dislike that there was no Internet signal (preparing days out was little harder) and no shelf in showers to put shower gel on. (hard for people with bad backs etc to bend to floor to pic up the gel)

Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch (sea view)

Liked: Pitch wonderful and so close to the sea, amazing sunsets.
Toilet block outstanding and the best ever seen.
Owners so friendly and welcoming.
Easy to get too. Able to cut off from WiFi etc and enjoy the scenery . Great playing field for kids and little playground. Perfect mowed grass, great drainage. Lovely sized service pitch .

Disliked: Only an observation not a dislike at all. Access from bottom site needed to walk up stairs or up the slope at end of field. Ideally for those with mobility issues could this be looked at. Despite this I would still return again and again.

Electric grass pitch

Liked: The peace and quiet :)toilets and showers spotless and the vending machine was fab for quick snacks and drinks : quick walk to the beach and nice when tide was out so dogs could have a paddle in the sea :)

Disliked: Being the only campers in the field where the other area was busy with campers / the weather was poor for the time of year but we made the most of it

Local attractions

Outdoors fanatics will find plenty to keep them on their toes hereabouts; Borth (40 minutes’ drive) and New Quay beaches (half an hour) have facilities for all sorts of watersports. However, you don’t even need to leave the park to try out kayaking, windsurfing and paddleboarding from the beach, and there’s a slipway for anyone keen to get out on the waves for a spot of sea fishing for bass, mackerel and lobster. Cyclists and walkers can test their fitness on forest trails at Bwlch Nant yr Arian Forest Visitor Centre (35 minutes), and long-distance hikers can follow the Wales Coast Path, which runs alongside the holiday park. You could also sneak a bit of culture into your holiday itinerary, with a visit to the stately John Nash-built mansion at National Trust-owned Llanerchaeron (20 minutes). The National Wool Museum (45 minutes) is another good bet; housed in a converted woollen mill, interactive displays showcase the importance of the former Welsh textile industry, and there’s a shop where you can pick up beautifully crafted Welsh wool blankets and shawls.
