This campsite offers a convenient location, a short walk from Aberystwyth, with many praising its clean and well-maintained facilities, particularly the hot showers. Visitors frequently highlight the quiet and peaceful atmosphere. While most found the pitches level and spacious, some noted initial confusion regarding check-in and pitch allocation. A basic, but well looked after site for simple needs
Electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked A Tent stay review:
A basic, but well looked after site for simple needs. Level pitches and grass well draining (2/3 nights rained)
There was plenty of room for our stay, we arrived with friends who had a camper, and were able to pitch across from them.
Be sure to bring a long enough electric hook up, or an extension just incase others decide to take up nearly two pitches. There isn’t any specific pitch space.
I didn't catch the name of the guy who was looking after the site while we stayed (drove a silver van) but he was amazing!
He was polite and informative, and on hand if we had any questions; and lent us an 5m extension for our 3 night stay.
Amenities are basic and clean, washing machines should you wish to use them, showers (around 6 between the two blocks), toilets, and a washing up area. All were cleaned and topped up with toilet paper daily.
I didn’t book this site out of choice our friends did, I did worry about some of the reviews I’d seen. We are a family of 2 adults, 2 children 5, 13 and we all felt happy and safe on the site despite it being on a roadway between Clarach and Aberystwyth.
if you are wanting a clean really relaxed site to pitch your tent and go exploring around wales (this is the perfect distance from Aber & clarach) Then come back for a BBQ, kids can play on the small park, have a lovely hot shower in the morning and be off out again.. then this is a perfect budget friendly site. If you are wanting an all frills, modern site to stay then look elsewhere.
Disliked Within our time here it was a Jewish holiday for 2 weeks. They had rented a large quantity or even all of the lodges. I couldn’t work out whether the swimming pool was included originally but now just wasn’t because they were there with modesty sheeting up.
There was another park on site which was inaccessible due to their stay, and they even told someone they couldn't pitch on a field opposite the lodges (when it had nothing to do with them where anyone pitched and they had no right) and bless the guy who was running the show, he dealt with a lot while we were there. I hope he gets a decent deal for their stay here. I feel this should be mentioned on the site when booking.
There isn’t a reception to visit, and upon arrival, calling either of the numbers on the website puts you through to a hotel under a different name this was really confusing as the second time I called I stated that this was the number on the website for this place and she then went on to stay “oh yes we managed this place too” it would have really helped if they’d say both names or a telephone option of some sort.
