Liked Nostalgic type of vibe.
Clubhouse was good food good
Very close to the sea and bay
Amazing views and walks
Security Guard Dean was great. He looked after us and the site we were on for 10 hours a day and we felt comfortable leaving our belongings behind.
Swimming pool was great
The little arcade was ok.
live music food options were good around the site.
The walk across to Aberystwyth was pretty and the lift train on the other side was a welcome sight.
My 6 year old loved the place. He went in the sea learned to skip rocks, played on the machines.
The last day we had to leave by 12pm this was awesome.
We went to go to the front to say bye to the sea for 5 minutes and was still there 7 hours later playing and messing about.
The reception staff were all fantastic and helpful.
Shop was good
The campsite was quiet, some kids running around messing with others tents and bits but nothing bad bad.
Loads of room to play
Very laid back place
The Amber bay side of things is all you could want and is just right.
Disliked Campsite is away from the caravan park and have to walk along a little road and the cars do not slow down or even drive at the speed limit. It’s very dark walk at night.
No hot water to wash up after cooking. Impossible to get pans plates clean after cooking.
The whole site bar the swimming pool and club house is dated, but not bad in any way really.
Long wait for food, to be expected really.

Liked On the coast, enjoyed the clubhouse. Quiet pitch for roof tent.
Led to nice coastal walks.
Disliked No hot water for washing up, also not covered incased the weather was bad.
Needs an additional toilet, shower block at the bottom of the field for those using roof tents.

Liked Facilities are great, shower and toilets, the club house is really nice with great views of the bay
Disliked The showers were a little hot, nothing major and would of been nice if it was cold out side but it was already 30c lol

Liked Short 5min walk to beach and amenities
Optional use of indoor pool (£5 per person)
Clubhouse with bar and restaurant
Disliked Rooftents had to set up in different area to others away from toilet/shower block, as you weren’t allowed to park next to pitch in other area (despite people actually doing this)

What customers say
This campsite boasts a fantastic location near the beach with stunning sea views and a popular clubhouse. Facilities, including toilets and showers, are generally reported as clean, though some guests found them basic or dated. Many visitors enjoyed the amenities and activities, particularly families. However, some reviews mention long food service waits, issues with campsite organisation and occasional noise or disruptive behaviour that required security intervention. The swimming pool incurs an extra charge for campers.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked We have been staying here for past few years, every year we come away so happy & peaceful. We stayed Aug bank hol & despite the rain & wind it was still truly amazing!
Toilets & showers are clean, well stocked & brilliantly maintained.
Was a different set up on the camp field this year and definitely a massive improvement on no cars by pitch the safety of children playing, between 2-10yrs was fantastic. Staff are blooming fabulous, from reception/security/bar etc everyone's polite, helpful & friendly!
Short walk to the most stunning beach, plenty of rock pools, climbs & sandy areas.
Anyone who's encountered issues previously- from a regular who camps, this is absolutely not the norm for Aber please don't let it put you off!
We plan to have a handfasting on the beach next year & would really love to use Aber camping for our group of roughly 30!
Highly recommend and don't let certain people who caused issues put you off booking. It's them, not the team at Aber.
Disliked The potential of not opening in 2027!! Please open!! We want to do a huge booking!

If you've watched shameless, the camp site is like shameless on tour.
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Good view from the field, not muddy even with the amount of rain.
Disliked Few families kept everyone awake until the early hours each night, Police attended on one of the nights, complete waste of their time.
No security or night porter to manage the noise.
The shower block gets really dirty as the day goes on, no mop bucket to clean each time.

Great location. Great price. Would stay again !
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked We loved it. Lovely toilets and showers. Well stocked with toilet roll. Could have done with a sweep throughout the day, but that's personal preference. Excellent location. Close to beach and entertainment for kids. Field was great, I had previously read some bad reports on the quality of the camping field, but we found it great. Lovely space between pitches.
Disliked Had some noisy neighbours who were in family camping, shouting until 2/3am all 3 nights but the children slept through it. Wish there was someone monitoring noise as some people were singing on a microphone gone midnight Sunday night .
Disliked how swimming had to be paid for for camping guests and also didn't like how sometimes you could not get a seat at evening entertainment as its quite small in there and is also open to the public so even less chance of a seat.

Liked Clean site
Disliked unfortunately their was other guests that we drinking shouting with loud music till 2 am in the morning every night we were there, even though we had told the abber bay they didn’t stop it.
Also we weren’t allowed to use restaurants till 8 which we weren’t told when booking
Can’t have your car next to your tent either which is pain really

Campsite and location perfect . Staff good. Can attract drunk people
Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Lovely campsite , good hot showers , location perfect , pitches are flat
Disliked Been twice in 2 weeks . The first time there was a mass brawl at midnight and the police were called. The second time there was a couple having an argument until 2 am. Not the actual sites fault , however it does seem to attract the wrong sorts of people and as someone with 3 young children this was a problem.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Good Location with good shower and toilet facilities regularly cleaned.
Disliked No parking near car (pretty essential with bad weather)
ABSOLUTELY no marquee's allowed despite bad weather, so cooking outside is impossible (cooking in a tent is very dangerous) forcing families to spend exorbitant amounts of money to feed children.
I was also separated from family members in another area of park away from toilet facilities despite my complex medical needs and park staff refused to let us move nearer family/facilities despite the field being not even half full.
I will seriously have to rethink about staying here again despite how much I love the area.

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked Had a nice flat pitch. Excellent club house. Really helpful staff. Can take car to pitch to unpack but can't stay parked there - if you have kids it makes it a lot safer and there was a lot of space for them to play safely. Pitches were fairly well spaced and it wasn't that busy so had lots of space. I was a bit hesitant after reading the reviews but those issues can happen on any site - it is the people that were booked in that caused the issues not the site which does have security and security staff were really helpful. Beach nearby with amusements chip shop and pizzas. Nice ice cream stall. Can walk over hill to Aberystwyth - which I would have loved to be capable of doing.
Disliked I have mobility issues so the walk to the car was a bit of a pain but maybe having a parking area a bit closer could be easily sorted for the bottom field. Wouldn't have booked if I had realised it was portaloos and showers but was pleasantly surprised and had no issues with them whatsoever and the toilet rolls were regularly restocked
