  • Sea-view site with spectacular sunsets 10 minutes' drive from New Quay
  • Aberaeron two miles away; walk to the Ceredigion Coast Path
  • Dogs and kids welcome; small, friendly and family-run location
Sea views, stunning sunsets, stacks of space and a splendidly relaxed vibe… what more could you want from a Ceredigion campsite? (If the answer’s ‘somewhere we can take the dogs and kids’, then you’ll be pleased to hear they’re both most welcome here.) Garth View is a place that’s got all of the above – this small family-run site looks out over a lovely valley with the sea in the distance, and it prides itself on offering a warm Welsh welcome to its guests. It’s a no-fuss setup here, favouring simple pleasures over lots of facilities, but it's possible to hire firepits and freeze ice packs and you'll have access to a converted container that houses two bathrooms (including hot-water showers, sinks and toilets), as well as two single toilets and separate washing area. The location here is a real winner too: Garth View is easily accessed from the A487, and it’s within walking distance of the Ceredigion Coast Path. The harbour town of Aberaeron, only two miles away, has plenty of places to eat. A 200-year-old pub which is dog-friendly and serves homecooked food is a 10-minute walk away too. The Moody Calf Play Barn, a venue with a play barn, farm shop, bistro, trampoline, foam pit and events venue is a 20-minute walk away. If you'd rather self cater, a couple of convenience stores are about five minutes’ walk away. The local launderette is a 10-minute walk away. Lots of the best-loved spots along the West Wales coast are within easy reach for days out: it’s a 10-minute drive to New Quay for wildlife-spotting boat trips or half an hour to Cardigan, a hub for watersports and other outdoorsy activities. The beaches of Llangrannog and Tresaith are about 20 minutes away, or you can venture a little further to Aberporth (25 minutes) or Mwnt (35 minutes). For a bigger town, head north to Aberystwyth in just over half an hour.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained, peaceful campsite praised for its stunning sea views, spectacular sunsets, and exceptionally clean, spacious shower and toilet facilities. Guests highlight the friendly and accommodating owner, the large, well-spaced pitches, and the convenient on-site amenities including a fridge and freezer. While located near a main road, traffic noise is reported as minimal. Its location is ideal for exploring nearby New Quay and Aberaeron, with easy access to coastal paths and local amenities. Some minor points noted include the need for WiFi and a suggestion for the entrance appearance.

Irma camping pod

Liked Spot on! Just spent 2 nights in their pod with my 4yr old son as part of our first motorbike "camping" trip. Pod was perfect for us! Comfortable double bed and a sofa that converts to another bed. Table inside with 2 chairs, coat hangers, lights, sockets and curtains. Outside you have a lovely raised decked area with a table/bench set-up and fire pit (we didnt use due to rain both evenings 😞). The host was very welcoming and happy. She showed us around, was open about pricing (for wood, fire starters etc.). The toilets and showers were very clean and worked as they should. There is a great little communal area with a fridge, freezer, microwave and kettle which was perfect for us. First night we walked to local morrisons (8min walk) and got some microwave meals and snacks. 2nd night we went to the local pub (The Red Lion) which was a 10min walk away - food was great, worth a trip!

Overall I would recommend this campsite, great host, great facilities, good views, easy access to shop/pub etc. We will be stopping by again! Thanks

Irma camping pod

Liked Perfect location for us, beautiful sunsets and a very peaceful setting. Despite being near a main road, you could not hear any noise from it. The shared facilities were really clean and well maintained. We stayed with our 5 year old, so I was worried about there being no play facilities, but she actually loved it and we had lots of fun, despite its simplicity. The moody cow play barn (which is also great) is just down the road for rainy days with children. The Irma pod was great and didn’t get too hot, even with the warmer weather. We loved being able to toast marshmallows over the campfire. Giovanna was friendly and easy to contact. Thank you; we have been recommending Garth View to all of our friends and we can’t wait to come back again.

Disliked This could be user error, but I couldn’t get the shower to the temperature I needed. It was either too hot or too cold. My husband said his shower was perfect so perhaps it was me!

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review! I am delighted to hear that Garth View was the perfect spot for your family getaway. It’s wonderful that the peaceful setting and beautiful sunsets made your stay so special—and I am glad the nearby road didn’t disturb the tranquility!
I completely understand your initial concern about play facilities, so it’s heartwarming to know your daughter had such a great time embracing the simplicity of the space. And yes, the Moody Cow play barn is a fantastic nearby option for rainy-day fun!
It’s great to hear the Irma pod kept cool even in warmer weather, and we love that you enjoyed toasting marshmallows around the campfire—such a classic way to make memories.
Thank you for recommending us to your friends—it means the world. I can’t wait to welcome you back again soon - thank you for all of your kind words. Warm wishes Giovanna
PS - Thank you for pointing out about the shower - I will certainly have this checked :)

Well worth the visit.

Irma camping pod

Liked Lovely quiet site, facilities much better than expected for a basic campsite. The camping pod was in fabulous condition, and the beds comfortable. The lady on the site was super helpful and there were fridges/freezers, a kettle and a microwave in a hut for communal use, as well as toilets and showers which were clean and very well maintained. There was a sink for washing dishes as well as a drinking water tap and clear instructions for the bins/recycling.

Liked Cabin was super cozy, warm and clean. Even when it was raining and windy both me and my partner had a really peaceful nights sleep. The toilets and showers were really lovely as well. It was very easy to contact Giovanna when needed and I got a quick response and she was lovely! Could not recommend more and will definitely be returning. The firepit was one of our favourites parts with the ability to purchase wood, firefighters, kindling etc on site was also a wonderful feature if needed.

Liked Owners reached out before our stay and gave us an update, Quite site, with all amenities we'll maintained, really clean modern shower and toilets. Didn't use them however lots of fridges free to use as well as microwave and kettle. It was nice to get into the pod after a 6 hour motorbike ride in the hammering wind.
