Sitting between the seaside towns of Aberaeron and New Quay, Moody Meadows is a family-run site 10 minutes’ drive from spectacular Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion. And not only is it family-run, it’s also very family-friendly, with a whole host of facilities to make life easy on site. These include a farm shop for topping up on supplies, a licensed bistro for those days when you can’t be bothered to spark up the barbecue and a play barn to keep kids safely occupied. The level, tree-lined pitches are all fully serviced with a lawned area for sitting out. Thoughtful additions in the shower block (it has disabled facilities) include hair dryers and a laundrette, and should you be bringing dogs with you, there’s also a dedicated dog wash area for cleaning muddy paws. With easy access off the A487, this quiet site is a convenient base for exploring Ceredigion, its beaches, historic sites and wildlife – watch out for red kites inland and dolphins in Cardigan Bay. A footpath leads from the site to the village of Llwyncelyn (10 minutes’ stroll), and a short walk from there takes you onto the scenic Wales Coast Path… You won’t need a car to explore the area, but a good pair of walking boots is essential.

Liked Lovely site with spacious hardstanding pitches with the option to book a Hot Tub pitch. Amazing facilties. Friendly helpful staff. Bar and restaurant serving awesome food not forgetting the farm shop.
Will definitely be booking again very soon!

Liked Spacious pitches, well maintained site, clean facilities, friendly staff, pub is amazing, great beer garden, no dogs in pub, pitches by road 1-3 have traffic noise, but not high traffic

Disliked Limited showers if it is busy but same with all sites

Great location

Disliked Very disappointed to find the kids had to pay to play on the park. Not helpful for families especially when you've paid to stay. No waste disposal at pitch despite saying fully serviced.
No area for kids to play, feels like they only want adults. Or a dog run field, not that we could find.
Some tight turns for long vans like ours so be aware.
Most disappointing was the park for the kids, £6.50 per child as it's a soft play and play area. Maybe add a play area on site for kids (for free) and we would definitely be back.

Disliked Unfortunately our pitch No 55 was overlooking where work is underway , digger and chain saw noise put a damper on our full day at the site as the weather was wonderful

Liked Cleanliness, staff were courteous, helpful and very professional.
Had everything that you need for camping including a well kept hot tub. All the amenities were cleaned and available throughout our stay. Overall such a great experience.

If the kids catch the wildlife bug, take them to see the birds of prey and butterfly house at the National Botanic Garden of Wales (55 minutes’ drive), where they can also encounter giant animal sculptures on lakeside walks. Learn more about the history of this corner of Ceredigion with a visit to the National Wool Museum (25 minutes), housed in a historic mill packed with original spinning looms; there are entertaining craft workshops for families. Fans of the combustion engine can see 19th-century machines in motion at The Internal Fire Museum of Power (20 minutes), giving an insight into the development of steam power. Staying with the heritage theme, tour the handsome John Nash-designed villa and lakeside gardens at National Trust - Llanerchaeron (10 minutes). If your offspring need an antidote to all that history, the crescent-shaped sandy beach at New Quay (10 minutes’ drive) has rock pools for crabbing and is backed by ice cream stalls and cafés.
