  • Cosy luxury pods with hot tubs surrounded by woodlands
  • Five minutes' drive from The Kelpies and 10 minutes from Linlithgow
  • Underfloor heating, welcome hamper and private firepit
Set in a gorgeously green pocket of the Central Belt, Weedingshall House describes itself as a cosy and relaxing place to stay on the edge of Falkirk, one of Scotland's most walker-friendly towns. Specialising in luxury wooden glamping lodges, this park is all about those finer things in life – like sitting back in your own private hot tub with a glass of something in hand… It's a very practical place to be staying too, as Weedingshall House is just a short drive from Junction 5 of the M9. The centre of historic towns like Falkirk and Linlithgow are 10 minutes away by road, while Andy Scott's iconic The Kelpie statues can be seen in as little as five minutes. As you wend your way back to base after days of exploring, you can look forward to all-round comfort in your lodge, where facilities like underfloor heating, luxury toiletries, tea and coffee, a microwave and induction hob and USB charging sockets come as standard. In addition, each unit comes with private decking, its own firepit and an ensuite bathroom, plus access to well-maintained communal facilities like a kids' playground, woodland walks, a coin-operated laundry and a nifty barbecue hut that can be hired for special occasions.

Lodge (hot tub)

Liked: Fantastic location. Very clean. At point of arrival the greeter was very informative. The cabin was superb, everything you could think off, even the welcome basket had a lot of thought put in to it. And a choice of hot tub, sitting by your own personal fire or relaxing with the tv after a long day of exploring! Will hopefully be returning in the future!!

Local attractions

Weedingshall House is roughly half a mile from Gray Buchanan Park (10 minutes' walk), a gorgeous stretch of green space in a waterside setting used as a backdrop for the 'Outlander' series. Just down the road in Falkirk (10 minutes' drive), meanwhile, you can visit the Falkirk Wheel, a magnificent feat of engineering that connects the Forth and Clyde with the Union Canal. Falkirk also has a great range of family-friendly activities to try, including cycle trails, go-karting, snowboarding, segway tours and laser tag. A short drive away, there's also the historic town of Linlithgow (10 minutes), home to gorgeous Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Other heritage sites not to be missed include Blackness Castle (20 minutes) on the Firth of Forth and the unmistakable Dunmore Pineapple (25 minutes). The beauty of staying in the Central Belt is how easy it is to get to both of Scotland's coastlines – Cramond beach and its causeway are half an hour away to the east, while the sandy Ayrshire coast is about an hour and 20 minutes to the west. Not forgetting top cities like Stirling (30 minutes), Edinburgh (40 minutes) and Glasgow (40 minutes), all of which have heaps to see and do.
