Camping pod (ensuite, hot tub)

Liked Crieff was a great place to use as a base for exploring Perthshire. The site was lovely and quiet, with the pod being positioned perfectly on the tranquil river. Staff were ever so helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. The hot tub was a great bonus, very easy to use. Don't go too mad with the wood, it will heat up gradually and from the bottom so keep stirring it! Pod was equipped with the basics (plates, cutlery, place mats), which was a nice inclusion. The Diamond Chinese in the town is a definite must for a take away!

Disliked The pod was a bit dark and the shower didn't have the best water pressure, but other than that couldn't fault it!

From the manager: Hello Becky - thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay. It's glad to hear you like the Diamond Chinese, we do recommend this to all our guests that like Chinese food as we think it is amazing. We hope to see you again in the future.

Overall enjoyable stay, welcoming staff and well kept site.

Superior camping pod (ensuite, hot tub, no pets)

Liked Location of site, close to river and very picturesque. Close to local shops as well as outdoor centre for things to do. Site had a small bar and sold essentials also.

Disliked Proximity of pods next to each other, a little more privacy would have been nice. A large party had congregated at the pod next to us for a birthday party which perfected our experience of our first night The pod itself has some damage, torn curtains, chipped skirting boards and damage to the shower taps.

From the manager: Hello,
Thank you for leaving a review. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay.
We do encourage all guests to call the out of hours number if other guests are impacting negatively on their break, and I hope this did not spoil your break too much. We are in the process of changing the shower mixer tap today, and will look at the other issues you have raised :)

Site is within easy walking distance to Crieff amenities.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked Quiet site. Clean showers and toilets - which were very warm! Small pitch area but adequate. Nice clean laundry/ dish washing area.

Disliked In my opinion catering more towards their pods and static lodges. Very few motorhomes/ campervan/ caravan pitches. No wifi.

From the manager: Good afternoon - thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we do appreciate all feedback as this helps us to improve our guest experience. We are pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you here again.
The park is undergoing a development phase currently and we no longer have seasonal pitches for tourers, although we have kept the nightly touring pitches we had, plus the four touring pitches with hot tubs. Although small, many of our guests state that they find the park cosy, quiet and peaceful, while still being within easy reach of Crieff town centre, which is a plus. We are in a hard to reach area, and this means we cannot offer conventional wi-fi to any of our guests so a system has been installed that requires both a transmitter and receiver - unfortunately the receiver needs to be indoors and this is why we are unable to offer wi-fi to our touring guests. We do offer free wi-fi in reception and this is available for all of our guests to use.
I hope the above does in some way address/explain your dislikes :)

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch (hot tub)

Liked Exceptionally clean shower block and right next to the river. Hot tub pitches great

Disliked We arrived with a rigid pop up caravan and was told this wasn’t allowed, however this is no where stated on the pitch up booking site. Can this be clarified on this website to avoid embarrassment, we were allowed but I felt unwelcome and this was by no fault of our own.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi there,
Firstly thank you for leaving a review, we appreciate you taking the time to do this.
Secondly, I would like to apologise for what you were told regarding the type of your unit, and especially as you felt unwelcome, which was certainly not that case!
To clarify, we do accept pop up caravans when they pop straight up, but not when they pop outward as there is likely then insufficient space for them on our pitches. As I'm sure you can appreciate this is difficult to state on the website, but we do encourage guests to call if they have any questions.
I hope that once this was sorted you did enjoy your stay and if you return, please do contact me (Helen) at the park and I will ensure that you are met with a warm welcome!

Local attractions

Ah, Perthshire…you could spend weeks here and still have to go back for more. More fishing, great golfing, red squirrels, country parks and historical highlights including Scotland’s oldest library and Iron Age hill forts – all here, along with the essentials of whisky trailing and big city shopping. Nearby Crieff was a wild-west style cattle rustling town in times of yore; it’s tamer these days but thrillseekers can check out the Crieff Hydro Outdoor Activity Centre to whirl around an aerial adventure course on tightropes, ziplines and cargo nets, or get sporty at some of the dozens of indoor and outdoor pursuits here including golf, riding, swimming and football. The centre has a reputation for being particularly sprog-friendly, as does the popular MacRosty Park: there’s a good-sized children’s playground here for all ages, beside a café for tired parents. From MacRosty, set off along the River Earn to see the trees on Lady Mary’s Walk, one of Perthshire’s most popular strolls for its wealth of wildlife and autumnal blaze. Another top tree-based walk – Perthshire is known as Big Tree Country, after all – is around the oldest managed forest in Scotland, Craigvinean, or the Atholl Estate and its wild tree garden, with possibly the biggest Douglas fir you’ll ever see.
