General

  • Warm and comfy glamping in the Scottish Highlands, with loch views
  • Archery, canoeing, fishing, kayaking and mountain biking all available
  • Restaurant with open fire and Loch Tay views

Wake up in heated glamping accommodation and drink in the views of a Central Highlands loch, take a boat out to hook a fishy supper, or settle down to a boathouse restaurant meal with views to take your breath away… easy options at Loch Tay Highland Lodges, where you can snuggle down for some warm and cosy glamping and the best of Highland highlights.

The park is tucked away high on a hill overlooking Loch Tay and stunning scenery – use it as a base for sightseeing around central Scotland and the Highlands, or do some day tripping and shopping in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling an accessible drive away.

That’s if you can tear yourself off site: archery, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, sailing and hurtling yourself down a slope in downhill cycling are all right on hand for guests. Fishing boats are available for hire too to take to the loch and land some tasty trout or succulent salmon (the site can arrange your fishing permit).

Make a point too of hightailing it to the on-site Boathouse restaurant for its open fire and huge picture windows with wide views of Loch Tay, or soak up the rays on the sundeck for a meal, vintage wine or the barbecues on some summer evenings.

Some accommodation options at Loch Tay have their own cooking facilities; if yours doesn't, you'll have access to a fully-equipped campers’ kitchen so you can fry up your catch: there’s a sitting room too to catch up with other guests.

Other facilities on site include wifi, a play area and a games room.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The Bistro on Loch Tay is fully licensed and open daily in high season periods for evening meals. For mid and low season opening times please check in advance using the number in your booking confirmation email.

Loved the Wigwams. Ours was on the front of a hill so we had a fab view of the loch! Toilets, showers and kitchen and dining area all kept very clean. Nice wee walk down to the lochside with my dog who loved it. Firepits outside each wigwam too. Will definitely go back.

Stunning clean and tidy cabin and park on the whole. 25/10/2018

We stayed as a family of four, two adults and two children aged 7 and 4 years old with our dog in the Wooden Cabins with bunk beds. Kids loved that we all had a bunk bed each and it saved pulling out and putting away a sofa bed each day of our stay. Beautiful clean and tidy park set in spectacular scenery. Cabins were modern and had all the utensils and crockery that we needed. Could have benefited from the provision of a small travel iron though. £5 electricity provided, kindling, fire lighters and matches were all available, although not sure if these were all included with our wooden logs which we ordered prior to our stay. We were looking to book the same accommodation for a weeks stay but seems the cabins with bunk beds are being changed to the zip and link ones in 2019. As I mentioned I dont want to be using a sofa bed everyday but will look at some of the alternative accommodation available on site. Would reccommend the place as a whole either way.

    Disliked:

The shower was not consistently warm everytime it was used and would run hot and cold three or four times in a 5 minute shower. However, we didnt raise this with staff as we were only staying two nights and therefore feel it would be unfair to criticise the Park.

The views and the opportunities on site as well as plenty of places to visit off site. In the Wigwam the heating and facilities were exactly as described. Felt like a small community where we were and everyone was so friendly. Would 10000% return, I am actually thinking of booking again for next month!

Local attractions

The best things in life are free… Perthshire has visitors flocking to it from all over the world to soak up its spectacular scenery and wildlife, climb the peaks or ramble over its landscape.

The scenic village of Killin and the Falls of Dochart are a short drive away from Loch Tay, or wander westwards to see the lochside village of Kenmore with Scotland’s oldest pub, or to pick up some worthy memories of your trip at Dewar’s World of Whisky in Aberfeldy.

For somewhat more recent history, a trip to Castle Menzies where Prince Charlie rested on his way to Culloden in 1746 should be a Bonnie day out, as should the 18th-century Blair Atholl Castle with its gardens, adventure playground and sculpture trail.

Perthshire has the River Tay as well as the loch: canter around the county for river fishing, walking and cycling the Tay Forest trails and the Ochil Hills, and the National Trust of Scotland site the Pass of Killicrankie with its river gorge, ancient woodlands and the first purpose-built countryside visitor centre in Scotland.

Must see

  • Gleneagles, PGA Centenary (24.0 miles)
  • Blair Castle (24.1 miles)
  • National Wallace Monument (27.6 miles)
