General

  • Warm and comfy glamping with Highlands loch views
  • Archery, canoeing, fishing, kayaking and mountain biking all available
  • Restaurant with open fire and Loch Tay views

Wake up in heated glamping accommodation and drink in the views of a Central Highlands loch, take a boat out to hook a fishy supper, or settle down to a boathouse restaurant meal with views to take your breath away… easy options at Loch Tay Highland Lodges, where you can snuggle down for some warm and cosy glamping and the best of Highland highlights.

The park is tucked away high on a hill overlooking Loch Tay and stunning scenery – use it as a base for sightseeing around central Scotland and the Highlands, or do some day tripping and shopping in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling an accessible drive away.

That’s if you can tear yourself off site: archery, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, sailing and hurtling yourself down a slope in downhill cycling are all right on hand for guests. Fishing boats are available for hire too to take to the loch and land some tasty trout or succulent salmon (the site can arrange your fishing permit).

Make a point too of hightailing it to the on-site Boathouse restaurant for its open fire and huge picture windows with wide views of Loch Tay, or soak up the rays on the sundeck for a meal, vintage wine or the barbecues on some summer evenings.

Some accommodation options at Loch Tay have their own cooking facilities; if not, you'll have access to a fully-equipped campers’ kitchen so you can fry up your catch: there’s a sitting room too to catch up with other guests.

Other facilities on site include wifi, a play area and a games room.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The Bistro on Loch Tay is fully licensed and open daily in high season periods, for lunch, snacks and evening meals. For mid and low season opening times please check in advance using the number in your booking confirmation email.

The views and the opportunities on site as well as plenty of places to visit off site. In the Wigwam the heating and facilities were exactly as described. Felt like a small community where we were and everyone was so friendly. Would 10000% return, I am actually thinking of booking again for next month!

Overall size of accommodation was OK for a couple.

    Disliked:

We stayed in a zip & link.
The pictures lead to believe there are loch views (no where near the loch) however this is not the case!
The shower was small (caravan sized). The bed was two singles pushed together, so the double sheet we took didn't fit. It was also less than comfortable.
It took two days for the smell of disinfectant to disipate.
There was minimal cutlery and mismatched glasses. If you want to cook at the property bring your own utensils (no tin opener, cheese grater etc).
Then kettle and toaster were cheap and nasty.
There was no freezer compartment in the fridge.
Though obviously the individual blocks of accommodation are on flat ground, the rest of the site is very steep. If you find walking at all difficult then avoid.
You have to take your rubbish to a point just by the entrance, which means you have a smelly black sack in your car.
There was WiFi but it was £3 per gb.
We have stayed at alot of cabins/cottages over the years and this is by far the worse equipped one we have stayed in.
The website does not state untruths, but it certainly doesn't give you the correct impression.

Loved the stunning visuals around the site and the cosy nature of our cabin. The own fire pit and seating area is arranged perfectly so you are not overlooked and feel like you have your own personal space.

    Disliked:

Was unaware that the TV had built in DVD player so failed to bring any movies to watch, it may be beneficial to have some sort of dvd library on site for people to rent from. Had to pay for wi-fi.

The cabins are amazing! They are lovely and clean, the furniture is of very high quality and well equipped. It was perfect and comfortable for us for the whole week. My two little ones had such a great time, especially with the playground so close to the cabin! They didn’t want to come home! We ate at the Italian restaurant and the food and service were fab! And we had takeout from the restaurant for tea on a couple of occasions and the food was still great! We really enjoyed our week at loch Tay and will definitely be making a return visit!

Local attractions

The best things in life are free… Perthshire has visitors flocking to it from all over the world to soak up its spectacular scenery and wildlife, climb the peaks or ramble over its landscape.

The scenic village of Killin and the Falls of Dochart are a short drive away from Loch Tay, or wander westwards to see the lochside village of Kenmore with Scotland’s oldest pub, or to pick up some worthy memories of your trip at Dewar’s World of Whisky in Aberfeldy.

For somewhat more recent history, a trip to Castle Menzies where Prince Charlie rested on his way to Culloden in 1746 should be a Bonnie day out, as should the 18th-century Blair Atholl Castle with its gardens, adventure playground and sculpture trail.

Perthshire has the River Tay as well as the loch: canter around the county for river fishing, walking and cycling the Tay Forest trails and the Ochil Hills, and the National Trust of Scotland site the Pass of Killicrankie with its river gorge, ancient woodlands and the first purpose-built countryside visitor centre in Scotland.

Must see

  • Gleneagles, PGA Centenary (24.0 miles)
  • Blair Castle (24.1 miles)
  • National Wallace Monument (27.6 miles)
