Our gorgeous domes all have loch views

General

  • Warm and comfy glamping in the Scottish Highlands, with loch views
  • Archery, canoeing, fishing, kayaking and mountain biking all available
  • Restaurant with open fire and Loch Tay views

Wake up in heated glamping accommodation and drink in the views of a Central Highlands loch, take a boat out to hook a fishy supper, or settle down to a boathouse restaurant meal with views to take your breath away… easy options at Loch Tay Highland Lodges, where you can snuggle down for some warm and cosy glamping and the best of Highland highlights.

The park is tucked away high on a hill overlooking Loch Tay and stunning scenery – use it as a base for sightseeing around central Scotland and the Highlands, or do some day tripping and shopping in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Stirling an accessible drive away.

That’s if you can tear yourself off site: archery, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, sailing and hurtling yourself down a slope in downhill cycling are all right on hand for guests. Fishing boats are available for hire too to take to the loch and land some tasty trout or succulent salmon (the site can arrange your fishing permit).

Make a point too of hightailing it to the on-site Boathouse restaurant for its open fire and huge picture windows with wide views of Loch Tay, or soak up the rays on the sundeck for a meal, vintage wine or the barbecues on some summer evenings.

Some accommodation options at Loch Tay have their own cooking facilities; if yours doesn't, you'll have access to a fully-equipped campers’ kitchen so you can fry up your catch: there’s a sitting room too to catch up with other guests.

Other facilities on site include wifi, a play area and a games room.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

The Bistro on Loch Tay is fully licensed and open daily in high season periods for evening meals. For mid and low season opening times please check in advance using the number in your booking confirmation email.

Good stay but could be improved. 10/07/2019

  • Liked:

The decor, kitchen, comfortable bed, wood burning stove was our favourite, we had the fire on every night and made the stay for us.

    Disliked:

Very shocked that there was no hand soap available!! There was washing up liquid but no hand soap in the toilet, we had to go to Killin to buy some. Shower, temperature changed constantly, freezing cold or scolding hot, the mattress protector was clean but had lots of but if dirt, sand and gravel on it. The sofas were comfortable but they were very worn in and drooped in the middle which hurt our backs, this happens with time so they could do with new ones.

Nice Relaxing Stay, Will be back to the area. 05/07/2019

  • 1 bedroom cabin (hot tub, pet friendly)
  • Recommend to friends   Visit again
  • Liked:

Cabin was fantastic and the hot tub was an extra plus. Very Clean.

    Disliked:

The lack of Air-Conditioning in the Cabin (the weather was very hot) made it quite difficult to sleep and uncomfortable with a 6 month old and a Dog. The temperature in the cabin was +23C with windows and doors open. This however is likely to be a one off in exceptional circumstances.

Its quite a walk down to the restaurant from the log cabins, never mind back up the hill which meant we only ventured down once.

No WiFi was available in the cabin

    Disliked:

should have given more information on how much time and wood is required to heat the hot tub. Took ovwr 4 hours the first night to heat and after only being allowed to check in after 4pm it doesnt give you much time left of your first evening. Also only supplied with 5 bags of wood and all of these are used to heat the tub.

Local attractions

The best things in life are free… Perthshire has visitors flocking to it from all over the world to soak up its spectacular scenery and wildlife, climb the peaks or ramble over its landscape.

The scenic village of Killin and the Falls of Dochart are a short drive away from Loch Tay, or wander westwards to see the lochside village of Kenmore with Scotland’s oldest pub, or to pick up some worthy memories of your trip at Dewar’s World of Whisky in Aberfeldy.

For somewhat more recent history, a trip to Castle Menzies where Prince Charlie rested on his way to Culloden in 1746 should be a Bonnie day out, as should the 18th-century Blair Atholl Castle with its gardens, adventure playground and sculpture trail.

Perthshire has the River Tay as well as the loch: canter around the county for river fishing, walking and cycling the Tay Forest trails and the Ochil Hills, and the National Trust of Scotland site the Pass of Killicrankie with its river gorge, ancient woodlands and the first purpose-built countryside visitor centre in Scotland.

Must see

  • Gleneagles, PGA Centenary (24.0 miles)
  • Blair Castle (24.1 miles)
  • National Wallace Monument (27.6 miles)
