What customers say

This is an exceptionally well-maintained and clean campsite with fantastic, modern facilities including showers and a well-equipped kitchen. Visitors frequently praise the friendly and helpful staff, spacious pitches, and the convenient location for exploring Edinburgh and local walks. Minor points include occasional noise from nearby aircraft and limited on-site shopping. Overall, highly recommended.

Fully-serviced gravel touring pitch

Liked Site not too big, very clean with helpful and friendly staff. Facilities on site were well thought out and all well presented and looked after. Campsite kitchen is a brilliant idea,

One of the nicest sites we’ve stayed on.

Disliked This is a great site. Our only negative for this site was it was 15-20 minute walk to nearest public transport link to Edinburgh. It’s a long way at the end of a long rainy day for little peoples legs.

Electric grass pitch

Liked Absolutely a gem of a site, ideal location easy access to travel into Edinburgh. We stayed here as we had booked the Tattoo was so easy.
The site is immaculately clean with well maintained grounds & level pitches, lovely little shop on site selling essentials, very polite helpful happy staff,
Toilet & shower facilities 5** very nice and clean.
You are very close to airport the planes are great to watch taking off and landing, can be noisy but they don’t run all night and you get used to them didn’t disturb us.

Liked The site was well laid out and clean. We were close to the washing up room which we also used for watching tv and playing cards at the tables in there.

Electric grass pitch

Liked the size of the campsite - it's not too big. The little shop, the reception, the friendly staff, the quietness, the facilities. Most of all the ease of getting into Edinburgh, we stayed there because we'd booked the Tattoo. Oh and the showers! Amazing hot showers - imperative when camping!

Local attractions

Linwater Caravan Park's locale means you're well set for both countryside and city days, or to break up a journey on your way north or south. Around the area, a mile away in a disused quarry is the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, with the biggest indoor climbing wall in the world (well worth tackling for the boasting rights gained for afterwards, one might suggest). The towpath walks of the Union Canal are nearby and the shows and exhibitions of the Royal Highland Showground are within four miles. You can also easily drive to the Kelpies, the biggest horsey structures on the planet, and to the Falkirk Wheel, the boat lift connecting the Union and the Forth and Clyde canals.
