Park up for your hols at Red Deer Village Holiday Park, a family-friendly site less than five minutes’ drive from the small Lanarkshire town of Stepps and within easy reach of Glasgow city centre. This is a top spot for a city break with the peace of a countryside retreat: those who crave urban explores will be well-served by Glasgow – a 15-minute drive or a 25-minute train ride from base – for strolls through botanic gardens, sups at distilleries, culture at museums and galleries, and splendid shopping. For those more in need of a rural getaway, there’s plenty round here to satisfy too: the Frankfield Loch wildlife sanctuary is a five-minute walk away for wanders among wild deer, and a 20-minute walk along paths from the site will bring intrepid adventurers to Cardowan Moss woodland, where there’s a network of trails to follow on foot or by bike. Don’t spend too long away from site the though – settle in for quiet evenings away from crowds and chaos with some self-catered evenings by the barbecue (buy gas on site), piling on food picked up from the well-stocked shop nearby. Otherwise, Stepps has a handy pub, café and restaurant within 15 minutes' walk of the site. Clean up after dinner by dispatching humans to the always-hot showers, and sort dishes (and stained clothes from sloppy eaters) at the dishwashing facilities and launderette.

Disliked Die Entfernung zum Stadtzentrum, Uber kommt trotz mehrfacher Versuche nicht,
die deswegen gerufenen Taxen waren leider sehr dreckig

Liked Meticulously clean, a great location perfect is you want to Visit Glasgow also very nice, close to Stepps Station. Toilets and showers impeccably clean and heated.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (small)

Liked Was in a good location, nice quiet clean site. Very close to train station to get direct access to Glasgow city centre or about £15 in a taxi.

We camped, the toilets and showers were very clean, no issues at all.

Disliked Water pressure in the showers is poor, you have to drive through the residential are to reach the tourers.

Liked Friendly and helpful staff. Brilliant location for travel into Glasgow Queen Street where all tourist activities can be accessed. Station was 10/15 mins walk (Stepps) from the campsite and then only three stops into the centre. Facilities excellent, hot water in washing up area which is unusual. Clean and good shower blocks. Peaceful with birdsong despite being so close to the city.

Disliked Some owners of dogs are still not responsible for always picking up their animals waste. This was minimal but observed on side of the path walking to the toilet block.
