Located on an 80-acre equestrian farm in the Galloway Hills in south-west Scotland, Gorsebank Camping Village is a great location for families and those enjoying outdoor pursuits.

We offer civilised 'wild camping' pitches situated on a secluded, private ridge overlooking farmland and forest. You can unload your car 10-25 metres from your pitch and parking is 30-45m from the pitches to give you a sense of the wilderness.

There's loads for kids to do including a farm experience tour and a nature treasure hunt (a small charge applies) as well as hide and seek hill and an adventure path. Bike hire and coarse fishing are also available on site for a small additional charge.

The site is close to beaches, mountain bike trails, family attractions, castles and culture, excellent local food producers, and has lots of varied walks and stunning wildlife.

Gorsebank is in a great location with a real feel of the wilderness.

Terms and conditions

Additional terms

We do not accept hen or stag groups. We are a designated quiet site, so are not suitable for any noisy or boisterous parties. Playing music is only allowed if neighbouring guests cannot hear it.

In the event of a cancellation by us in exceptional circumstances, our liability shall be limited to the return in full of the monies paid.

Only the families/persons quoted when booking are allowed to stay at the property. No third parties are allowed to stay at the property and holidays booked are not transferable. The person named as party lead on the booking form is responsible for the group and liable for any damage caused and/or monies outstanding.

The owner is not liable to the guest, or members of the guest's party for the loss or damage to any belongings of any of them.

As owners we shall not be responsible for the death or personal injury to a holidaymaker or loss of/damage to or accident relating to personal property.

In the event of misbehaviour or other necessary causes the owner reserves the right to terminate the let without any refund of monies.

A maximum of two well-behaved dogs are allowed per pitch and dogs must be booked in advance. Dogs must be kept under total control and on a lead at all times so that they do not affect other guests. Dogs must not be left alone and must not be allowed to foul on site.

We ask that any breakages or faulty equipment be reported so that we may replace them.

Where you have special requests please specify upon booking and we shall endeavour to do our up most to fulfil your requirements. Our aim is to make your stay a happy and memorable one. If there is anything we can do to make your holiday more relaxed or enjoyable please let us know.

It should be noted that there is a large pond near the properties and various small lakes around the farm. It is important that young children are supervised at all times.

We operate a strictly no smoking policy inside the properties, toilets and kitchen area. A charge of £200 to defumigate areas will be made if guests smoke.

Privacy: we will never pass your details to a third party unless required to do so by law. We will however send you information updates on events at Gorsebank. If you do not wish to receive these please advise us.

Campfires and barbecues may not be permitted during exceptionally dry spells.
