  • Family park half a mile from Coldingham Sands beach and watersports
  • Within 5 minutes' drive of St Abbs and Eyemouth; an hour to Edinburgh
  • Kids' club, indoor golf, outdoor play, chippy, spa and bar and grill
Find your way to Scoutscroft Leisure Park for adventures at the seaside or the city: this well-placed park is an easy half a mile from spectacular and award-winning Coldingham Bay beach and just over an hour’s drive from the sights and shops of Edinburgh. There’s loads to do on site too (this is a firmly family-friendly park), including indoor miniature golf, a kids’ club, a snooker room and an outdoor play area. Food and drink is sorted for all tastes too at the fish and chip takeaway for quick bites (perhaps on the beach…?) and the Sands bar and grill for breakfasts, lunches, evening eats, snacks and a wide selection of bevvies ranging from soft drinks to cider. Drink up, then drink in the scenery: Scoutscroft is close to the Berwickshire coast and the Scottish Borders, handily placed for weekends away or longer hols exploring sandy beaches and nature reserves. To take the excitement up a notch, watersports including surfing, kayaking, diving and bodyboarding are easily sorted from the park; elsewhere, days out at local port town St Abbs and harbour town Eyemouth are within less than 10 minutes’ drive. These places are also where you can pick up provisions at supermarkets… or simply meander between the two on a coastal hike.

Camping pod (superior)

Liked: Booked a camping pod for a very last minute break away with my son (aged 11). Price incredibly reasonable (3 nights £96). Pod had everything we needed - power, beds, a fridge for a wee wine and a TV with free view. WiFi signal wasn't the strongest but I was able to hotspot from my phone no problem. Site clean and tidy, staff friendly and bar prices are very reasonable for food/drinks/snacks. Toilets are a little bit of a wander away but considering the price I wasn't expecting an ensuite and happy to walk even in the rain. Can see why this could be a problem for anyone in a hurry but thankfully our scheduling meant no during the night visits were required! Showers and toilets very clean. There is also a family bathroom/shower room which I thought was a nice touch with a half sized bath for younger children. Location perfect for touring, Coldingham Bay looked lovely even in the rain and nearby St. Abbs is very picturesque (with a nice cafe too). We also visited Berwick, Bamburgh Castle and the Holy Island. There is a well stocked Spar a short walk away that's open to 9pm most evenings. I would definitely visit again, the pod did exactly what I needed it to do - provided me with an affordable way to go on an adventure with my son.

Camping pod (superior)

Liked: Warm, clean showers, warm, clean and spacious glamping pod, well maintained and clean park, TV in the pod small but handy fridge, kettle double bed and two singles, drinking water tap 2mtrs away outside, friendly and helpful staff, amazing rural location, 5min walk to the most beautiful beach and costal walks, on site chip shop and bar/ club house, excellent value for money 5*

Disliked: Possibly reduce lighting in the pod very bright and well lit, possibly benefit from two more sockets at far end of pod, small welcome pack of tea coffee and cups would be nice but understandably would reflect in cost, blind was missing wind up and down cord.
