Camping pod (superior)

Liked The pods were great and the location was fantastic. Short walk to the beach as well as shorter drives to breath taking walks.

Disliked The showers were freezing with no hot water. Staff mentioned I go to a sister site to have a shower. Which would have been a good option if the showers there weren’t awful. Food prices at the bar were astoundingly high for the quality of the food. This is not exactly the sits fault but their chilled ambience was ruined by the state some ‘roundabout painter’ got himself in on the night, after he was kicking off and fighting locals in the bar he then proceeded to shout and wake up my sleeping 3 year old at 1am and puked all over the pod outdoor area and left bottles of vodka and cans lying around for us to find in the morning. Not really giving the family friendly vibe the place had when we arrived. We were lucky with the weather, if the weather was awful the trip could have been different. Debated booking again until the last night fiasco and the shower situation.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re pleased to hear you enjoyed the pods, the fantastic location and proximity to the beach and walks. However, we’re very sorry to hear about the issues you experienced with the showers, food pricing and, most importantly, the unacceptable behaviour that disrupted your stay and family experience. This is certainly not the family‑friendly environment we aim to provide, and we appreciate you highlighting these concerns alongside the positives.

Camping pod (superior)

Liked Pods were without fault. Totally lived up to expectations and more as were very cosy.

Disliked No hot water. So we basically had no showers during our stay. Fortunately a relative lived close by so we got a shower on day 1 however we had to leave early on day 2 as we had to go home for a shower. Totally unacceptable.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We're delighted you found the pods cosy and welcoming, but we're very sorry about the lack of hot water — this is far below the standard we aim to provide. Your feedback is important, and we’ll ensure this is urgently reviewed with the team.

Camping pod (superior)

Liked This is the third time that we have stayed at Scoutscroft and we have always received a lovely and friendly welcome. The site is always immaculately kept and the pods are clean, very cosy and a joy to spend the night in.
The chip shop when we were last there was a wonderful surprise as we hadn't had food from it on our previous visits. The fish and chips and my scampi and chips that we enjoyed on Friday night, were cooked to perfection, thank you very much for that. On the following night we thoroughly enjoyed a perfect pizza in the bar before our early night in our pod.

Disliked There is nothing to dislike at all

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your wonderful review and for choosing to stay with us again Sandy. We’re delighted to hear you consistently receive a warm welcome, enjoy the immaculate site and cosy pods, and that the chip shop and bar meals were such a pleasant surprise this time. It’s lovely to know everything hit the mark for you.
