Eyemouth’s harbour is home to a busy fishing port and fishmarket, and is also regularly frequented by seals and swans. The town has eateries and shops, an art gallery, a museum and maritime centre, and trips out on glass-bottomed boats in the warmer months.
The park is well-placed for walkers and cyclists who want to explore the Berwickshire and Northumberland coastlines, and this being Scotland, there are plenty of golf courses around too.
The walled border town of Berwick-on-Tweed is only 15 minutes away by car and has a good range of shops, plus a military barracks and museum, and a splendid railway viaduct. Venture a little south into Northumberland and you could visit the Holy Island of Lindisfarne or Bamburgh Castle, both well worth the trip.
