Local attractions

Roundstone Village has deservably earned a reputation for itself as the most desirable place to holiday in the West of Ireland. Located on the edge of the sea and overlooking the 12 Bens, it still retains its traditional irish charm and you will still see fishermen in Galway Hookers whilst dining in any one of a handful of reputable restaurants. Beach & Water activities Gurteen Bay which stretches 2km offers you the chance to get an isolated part of the beach and the opportunity to do as you wish. You could walk, swim, picnic, fish, cycle, watch the wildlife, and admire the sunset and sunrise. Hill Walking Although there are several walks in the area within easy distance we would recommend that a walk up Errisbeg Mountain should be where you start. This three hour walk gives you the opportunity to view the Gurteen Bays unique pronglike beach, the 12 Bens, and to the North the Roundstone Bogs. Pony Trekking at The Point Pony Trekking & Horse Riding Centre in Ballyconneely.
